When I'm out and about, I don't carry something quite as small as a murse, but I do carry a smaller messenger bag.

If you happen to wear a blazer/sport coat, carrying these items will break the "form" of the jacket, particularly if the coat is well-tailored. It's impossible to put keys, wallet, and phone all in your jeans, especially with how they're making jeans these days.

Keys: 2 sets (one for the car and one for your condo)
Phone: Smartphones are pretty big these days
Wallet
MP3 player/IPOD
Point-and-shoot camera
Water and/or energy bar or snack
Etc.

Men don't let men wear purses and fanny packs belong on the waists of men whom also sport pocket protectors or are so fat they can't access their back pockets with their pants on.

The nicest murse that isn't one of those high end designer would be Lacoste IMO. They got messenger bags and belt bags. Pretty slick all whites

And when was the last time you bought a pair of jeans? Your typical pair of bootcuts from Diesel, Levis, 7, R&R, Joes, etc. all fit fairly close to your thighs these days. And if have any muscle definition in your thighs, it's next to impossible to carry two sets of keys and a phone without hindering your mobility.

I don't consider myself a fashionista, but carrying a bag of some sort is not succumbing to fashion - it's simply practical for any guy that doesn't want to wear a heavy jacket and/or cargo shorts to carry life's essentials.

Yea, I can put my keys, wallet, phone, smokes, lighter, change, sunglasses, even an extra t-shirt and shorts in my jeans pocket.

The real question is, is it comfortable? Is it convenient? Have you ever sat at a restaurant with all of these things in your pocket? Try walking around the mall or downtown robson with all these in your pocket. You have to go through you phone to get to your smokes. Or try to find which pocket that lighter is in. In the winter time it's okay without a murse, because you have your jacket and pants. But summer time, I usually run around in my tank and shorts with 2 pockets. Night time, a t shirt and jeans. The comfort of having a phone, smokes, wallet, keys, and lighter in my pocket started become irritating, even if my wallet is in my back pocket, sitting down sometimes feel uncomfortable.

Why torture yourself and go through a day of hassle because you refuse to wear a murse due to your big man pride?

i wear fitted jeans, i dont have this problem.
second, i only carry one set of keys, a wallet and a phone. my wallet is slim, my phone is slim, i only carry 3 keys and a car remote on one loop.
just trying to understand how its impossible to do that without a purse, when 90% of the male population doesnt complain about it.

i changed this to 90 from 95 after i looked up "% of population that is gay" on google and found that 10% is gay.

I use one of these. A tactical Maxpedition Jumbo versipack. Nothing gay to this if you ask me. Too bad it's illegal here in Canada, but this bag will let you conceal carry a handgun if you wanted to.

I use this bag as my EDC (every day carry) bag. Along with my wallet I keep in my back pocket, I also carry my set of keys, cellphone, flashlight, muti-tool, and pocket knife everyday.

Depending on the day I will also carry with me my digital camera, ipod, sunglasses, etc.

Everybody has different needs. There will be days where you need to carry more than just your wallet, cellphone, and keys. And for those days, it will probably be more comfortable carrying a little bag with you. Yes some of my friends tease me for carrying a bag with me, but the type of work I do makes it crucial for me to carry my EDC items at all times. And they tend to shut up when my pocket knife or multi tool saves their day from whatever problem that needs something cut, fixed, etc.

I don't know. Just my 2 cents.

The problem is not that you can't fit your keys, phone, sunglasses, clothes, etc. in the pockets of your jeans.

It's quite uncomfortable having your key rub against your leg, and your pockets will be bulgy as hell. It's also VERY easy to drop things on the floor when you're searching for spare change. Digging through things in the pocket to find something it just annoying, and most of us can attest to this.

I'm not saying that we should all get skinny jeans and buy Gucci murses; it's just that the reason for getting a murse is sometimes a practical one. It's not always an aesthetic issue "Oh look at me I'm so ballin". The welcome, or unwelcome, stares from people can be a plus, or negative, depending on how you roll.

That being said, I would advise a messenger bag if you're feeling insecure, as they are more universally accepted than side pouches.

Call it what you want, murse, purse, gurse, gayurse, homosexuality-urse. It's convenient and it helps me get by my day without the annoying feeling of my pockets being jammed with stuff. I'm not a homophobe and I have nothing to be ashamed out.

Everyone has their own standard way of living and if you don't feel like you want to be called names, that's up to you.

You could buy very nice murses at Holt Renfrew, but be prepared to pay a premium for them.

Lacoste and Diesel murses are still stylish and won't break your bank.

Kind of off-topic but I honestly think Koreans got a pretty good sense in style.. The fact that they can grab random no name brand things and slap it together and look pretty decently dressed up... I gotta give them a

I don't wear murses but I wouldn't be opposed to it. I think we're just sick of people wearing the same things and associate murses with "nammers" and "thugs". I personally don't like that Ed Hardy stuff but only because I live in Vancouver and I see a lot of people wearing it for the sake of wearing it. I guess I can see the appeal in that stuff because of people's association with those clothes, people think it symbolises something but to most other people it just symbolises trying hard.

But as far as murses go, it's like saying "glasses are gay" or "hats are gay" it's not like it was something recently invented and it's really broad to say all of one thing is gay. I'm sure in 20 years the kids will call us gay for wearing peacoats or something else that's been around forever.

I'm not sure about you guys, but ever since I started working, I don't have the luxury of wearing jeans and a softshell anymore.

This means dress pants. ugh.

My current dress pants have little enough pocket room already.
I fits my tiny phone, and struggles with my card/bill wallet.
And I have already found myself storing my wallet in my backpack.

I'm upgrading to a big ass smartphone in a month or so, and since I'm married to my mp3 player, this pushes me squarely into murse category.

One of my friends has a belt bag, It looked ok on his casual clothes.
But I can't imagine walking around the office in a suit with a belt bag.

So serious help would be appreciated.

Also, no, a belt clipped cellphone is not a consideration.

I said in my other post that winter time, it's okay without a murse.

Why would you be embarassed? You think everyone is paying attention to you at the mall? They just wanna get their shit and get the hell out. Stop being so conceited.
