OK, how can I tell if this are genuine? Last time when i bought IEM it was through an RFDeal so there was a lot of feedback. These dealers are Fulfilled by Amazon..does that make them legit? There's no comment on this product and it's only $36...

woob 10-14-2010 05:04 PM

No idea just by looking at the picture. I only checked after I had them in my possession. Risky? Yes it was, but for $30 I didn't mind too much.

The only way to be perfectly sure before buy is if the product is coming from an authorized dealer: Here's the list of USA online dealers.

If you do by them, this is how you tell: http://anythingbutipod.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8392

I find this to be semi-helpful
http://www.amazon.com/review/R1FUSRTID7HVH8/ref=cm_cr_pr_viewpnt#R1FUSRTID7HVH8they identified some stores what they recieved fake ones from

I received a fake set from boomdealz.

edit: BoomDeals was prompt to send a genuine set to me once I informed them of the fake set that I received. I am currently listening to the new set and they sound awesome.
The one i'm interested is by boomdeals (fulfilled by Amazon)

Ikkaku 10-15-2010 12:29 AM

^ yeah so it's definitely a hit or miss right now, but it doesn't help that we'd have to deal with an american company. I mean, it's good that they'll fix it up and send you another set, but definitely a hassle if anything goes wrong.

There is some info on head-fi regarding them. The consensus is not clear, varied results for different people. Alot of people seem to be saying stick with JH Audio for your custom IEMs.

Audioholics.com

Although they are not only for headphones, but all aspects of audio

woob 10-17-2010 10:31 PM

^cool. Always good to find new resources.

Don't really feel like starting a new thread but just got a pair of studio beats and want to trade them for something better. I can't stand them and contrary to common belief there actually isn't any bass even when i set my iphone to bass boost. Maybe if you listen to some techno/trance songs but for normal volume/songs it's not there. Noise cancellation is pretty shitty too, but i'm looking for something that doesn't have NC. Probably go back to in-ears. Sold my image S4's because they didn't have mic for my iphone. They were about the same quality as the studio beats for normal usage :/

Suggest me a good in-ear to replace this garbage

roastpuff 11-24-2010 11:29 AM

Ultimate Ears UE11. You will be satisfied. ;)

ilvtofu 11-24-2010 11:34 AM

Should've thrown a budget in there under 250 :P

twitchyzero 11-24-2010 05:50 PM

i bought some cheap EP-630...read that it was very similar to CX-300...the bass definately doesnt sound as punchy.

anyways..any tips for breaking-in these earphones?
should i do 30% volume for like 70+ hours or like 60% at 40 hours?

LookHere_Sucka 12-13-2010 08:45 PM

Anyone get the iBeats by Dr.Dre? They're supposed to be really good for the price but I'm finding they're only a little better than the stock apple earphones

Gh0stRider 12-14-2010 12:05 PM

I sold beats by dre to a customer. i can't believe people pay that much for headphones...geez

woob 12-14-2010 05:18 PM

3 bills? I could see people spending that much on headphones, but I wouldn't spend it on beats.... There are so many better options even at that supposedly high price point.

Culverin 12-14-2010 06:03 PM

I'm on/from head-fi.

Isolating > Noise Cancelling
IEM >>> Dynamic Driver "ear buds".

Sorry if I'm doing a little self whoring here.
But if anybody is interested, I've got a pair of "possibly new" Westone UM2 for sale.
I'm saying "possibly new", cause I sent them into Westone to fix the cable, and I think they just sent me back a new pair.

They dual driver "true" IEMs.
They are warm with deep and tight bass.

I bought them locally for around $350, but they definately aren't worth that much anymore, even if they are "possibly new".
hahahahaa

Shoot me an offer if you want, I've upgraded and they are just sitting in their case collecting dust.

ninjai123 12-26-2010 05:06 PM

Hey everyone, I'm pretty most of you guys are Audiophiles or just people interested in higher-quality sound. I'm selling my rare RP-HJE900 earphones for $150, it has a custom cable. I received them as a gift from a Relative that went to Japan and as far as I can tell, they're like $249.99 MSRP off of Audiocubes not including the taxes/custom fees. This here is my baby: http://www.revscene.net/forums/fs-pa...p-t633664.html The sound quality is absolutely astonishing for the price but as you will find out, I don't find myself using them enough.

Armind 12-29-2010 10:18 PM

So ummm my uncle has Dre's beats Studio and Pro and he's willing to give one to me. Which is better? I mainly listen to trance.

Manic! 12-29-2010 10:45 PM

Dre's headphones suck. Anything by Monster sux.

skyxx 12-29-2010 11:21 PM

^ Stuff from monster don't suck, they're just overpriced. ;)

Depending if you want noise canceling or not. Both are good and since you're uncle is giving you either one I'd take the Pros ;)

striderblade 12-29-2010 11:33 PM

i found that studio sound better than pro. 400 is too much for pro if you ask me.

skyxx 12-29-2010 11:49 PM

they are cause they are more of a "studio monitor" than the heavier Bass Pro version. I'm sure Armind would prefer one that has a bit heavier bass as he listens to trance.
