If it's mostly a DD I would say a selectable locker such as a ARB or an electric but if you don't drive that much I would say a detroit which I had in my last truck and it was awesome. If you don't have the money to spend an Aussie locker is decent as well.

Basically money is what's holding me back and at $285 I can't argue with Aussie. ARB wold be lots of win though but can't afford that.

edit: and fwiw the truck goes Pomo to Abby daily. (about 120'ish km's a day)

^ cragislist is the best place or if you can find some of the older semi V bar chains you can take it to a tire shop to get the fit. Those V bar ones are the best by far.

Ya I was looking at a set of those on yotatech. I can have them re-sized for any tire size? Good to know.

And that Hummer posted on the past page... I wonder how happy his electronics were after that.

And I couldn't tell from the blurryness but i'm assuming that extra long stack was an extended intake..

2 4x4's, both locked + 2 Bobcats w/ cabs and heat (773 and S250) should make up for the shitty year at work.

2 years ago my neighbor and his son made about 70K in 17 days, going almost 24/7, with 2 machines and a plow.

Hollaaa...

That's madness... Need a licence for those bobcats? If you need an extra hand on the weekends, let me know haha.

And what's RSUV?

You can learn to drive a skid steer in about 2 minutes but it takes a while to do it without killing your tires, attachments, lawns and your back and do it quickly. People tend to try to do things too fast when they're still green (operating any type of heavy equipment) but you want to focus on being smooth - slow is smooth, speed comes with time.

No license required since they're usually off the road - liability insurance just in case.

RSUV started on here when they started the 4x4 section.

Never tried my car in heavy snow yet, but I doubt I'll make it through if it was as rough as 2008.

At least my dad has a Toyota Highlander which may help on my way to work if anything goes wrong.

Worst case scenario, there's always a choice of public transit. It's not the end of the world.
