Anyone on RS playing Minecraft? I played a bit when it was free and I just haven't had time to start playing again. I'll probably buy it in the next couple of days though.

For those that don't know, Minecraft is a game (still in alpha) and it is just a HUGE sandbox. You can literally do whatever you want. I guess the learning curve is a bit steep since there is actually no tutorial in game (I think). You pretty much just start in your world and you don't really know wtf to do.

Once you get used to it, you can build amazing things. I see people playing around school, and a few people from my set play. They have HUGE mansions and castles and stuff. It's really a pretty amazing game, just takes a bit of time to get used to and a bit more time to actually build stuff that you want.

There are actual enemies in the game but they only come out at night. So you would need to stay sheltered and around light or else they will get you.

It's a really interesting game and it's definitely worth a shot. It's a lot of fun building whatever the heck you want.

There's also multiplayer which is exactly like single player except it's not just you building it's a whole bunch of other people too.

I think it's just one person developing and he's sold 465035 copies of the game and it's still in Alpha, but once you buy it you have access to all future iterations of the game. And its 50% off only €9.99($14ish CAD) during Alpha.

Maybe we can start an RS server or something if a few people play!

the stuff you can build with the redstone wires is pretty impressive.

I'm building a subway system where you can press a button to choose which station you want to go to, using a series of tflop gates.

i just wish minecarts and redstone wiring worked in multiplayer servers atm :(

^Holy crap thats amazing. I wonder if he'll actually have a use for it in game. I remember learning about all of that stuff last year and was picturing the diagrams and stuff as he was talking lol.

Decided to not wait, just purchased minecraft!

I want minecarts and boats to be fixed in the next update. My friends and I dug a 2 min long tunnel (takes 2 minutes to walk from one end to the other) so we need rails ASAP.

This game is pretty fun, are you guys just playing in a free public server? If so, which server?

Damn it! I can't seem to stop playing! I started building my house on an island and its turned out to be a huge ass cave so now I'm starting to turn this whole place into my house.

Can zombies shatter glass? I want to make all of my walls glass lol.

I'll try setting up a server tonight for RS!

glass is as good as anything for mob protection I believe.

edit: what kind of connection do you have? From what I've read you need about 30KB/sec upload per person on the server currently, seems pretty unoptimized.

Currently playing in a private server with just a few friends. If you start the RS server we'll play!

In Multiplayer, zombies and other mobs cant do shit to you. They're still broken.

The only monster that can do damage is the Creeper. Even then, he'll just blow up your base but you won't take damage.

Yea, turns out I can't host a server, it's not working I can only connect via local host and when I use the IP it disconnects me and says I took too long to login or something.

But I've put my cave mansion to a halt... I'm gonna try and make my own castle.

I'm so down lol

So how do we go about getting a multiplayer for RS members?

^we'd need someone to host a server. I tried doing it but it didn't work :(

It's already almost 12 and I just stopped playing...

I'm playing single player right now as not that many of my friends play it. I've joined some multiplayer games but I just walk around in awe at some of the things that they've made!

Single player is honestly just as fun, I had no idea how much time passed by when I was playing and I didn't really want to stop. I just gathered enough material to start working on my castle!

I haven't given too much time into this but my friend is obsessed so I gave it a try and played some multiplayer with him.

I find it weird that they sell a game that's still in Alpha stages. I've never heard of that before.

Anyways I look forward to the finished product where things become much more user-friendly.

Redstone and switches an torches can do sooooo much in this game. Pretty amazing.

Do your single player things transfer over to multiplayer?
