weather network = needs people to tune in to stay in business.

government weather site = funded by government and doesn't fuck around.

I only trust the governments weather site, and its generally much more accurate than weathernetwork fyi.

Even with snow tires, drivers still need to take it easy when turning and braking.

FYI Environment Canada provides the forcast for Shaw and it's fairly accurate.

Weather Warnings - Environment Canada
Quote:

Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford
2:58 PM PST Sunday 15 January 2012
Snowfall warning for
Fraser Valley - west including Abbotsford issued

Snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm for Monday evening.

This is a warning that significant snowfall is expected or occurring in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A strong ridge of high pressure building over Northern British Columbia will produce strong outflow winds through coastal valleys and inlets. The strong outflow winds in combination with the cold temperatures will produce wind chill values near minus 20 degrees or below to the inland sections tonight and the coast sections Monday. These cold conditions are expected to last several days.

Meanwhile a weather system approaching from the west will begin to move over the Inner South coast Monday afternoon. At the same time the colder air from the north will also be entering the Fraser Valley. The combination of the colder air and the Pacific air will result in snow for the Fraser Valley with snowfall accumulations of 5 to 10 cm by Monday evening.

Snow warnings may be extended to other south coast locations.

Please follow the latest forecasts and warnings at Weather - Environment Canada.

Road conditions can be monitored at DriveBC.
