AWD service = $150 in parts ~ 3 hours labour

Completely dissassembling and hand polishing your newly ported throttle body = $150 in parts + ~4 hours of wetsanding/reassembly/reinstalling

Full tank of gas and reloading the 94 octane tune = $80

Waking up to a few inches of snow and realizing your dad took your car to work because it was snowing? :fuuuuu::fuuuuu: Priceless :okay:

So disappoint. Same thing happened last year. Sigh ... throttle is so sensitive now too, would've been fun in that there snow.

yeah apparently its +2c over in surrey/vancouver :fulloffuck: but is supposed to reach -2 overnight so that means icy roads (its in the negatives by coq, pitt, ridge)

I gotta go all the way to Maple Ridge and I'm leaving my house at 5 am. Eeeep

I think the weather network is always trying to "hype" everything up. I have been fooled by them so many times and environment canada has done a much better job of being accurate:ahwow:

StylinRed 01-16-2012 11:28 PM

i know thats why im saying enviro canada says its even warmer and it'll get just as cold... even warmer means more melting :heckno:

im cancelling everything for the week and just staying in :fullofwin:

I have a friend who works in Aldergrove and lives in Abbotsford, she left work early due to the driving conditions, but asked if I could come get her rather than driving herself home. Not a problem, I have good winter tires and ample experience driving in severe winter conditions.

The highway was verging on a complete white out, one lane has 5cm of untouched snow and the active lane had snow drifts. I was travelling 80km/h and it would not have been unreasonable to drive half that speed. A semi pulled up behind me going 100km/h+ and tail gated me very close for awhile, I maintained speed and watched him carefully. Suddenly the semi changed lanes and steered into the untouched powder and accelerated past me, blowing all the powder straight into the air. For a solid minute, I could not see the end of my own hood as a result of his actions and found myself in the other lane when it eventually cleared.

No matter how well prepared you are for winter driving, no matter how experienced you are, there will always be an idiot with complete disregard for the safety of themselves and everyone around them.

Careful everyone.

JSALES 01-16-2012 11:43 PM

Roads are clear, few exception to smaller roads. Just drive slow, my friend had a summer tires on, while he was left turning, it slipped and hit a parked car, total fail
