I think its on the Ontario side cause of all the red OC Transpo buses, yet all the government buildings look similar so I forget. Maybe Tunney's pasture... still funny as fuck, articulated buses suck in the snow.

how are the roads in richmond gonna go pick up a car with summers on, is it clear? or icy?

I was on summers, thought I could wait it out by driving only main roads, yet side roads are nearly impassable so I'm on snows now.

Stupid Weather Network...yesterday morning, when I checked the forecast for Vancouver at like 10am when it was snowing hard downtown, it said it would be snowing the rest of the day, and 5-10cm by late afternoon. Instead, the snow stopped with a few minute, and it was sunny and it never snowed again since. So full of fail.

really? i'm on summers and i've still somehow managed on the small roads. Just take it really really slow and you should be okay. main roads as mentioned are clear and dry almost. just have to be careful when it comes to small side streets and you should manage just fine

Bad, even the main roads still have a lot of slush and snow.

True, yet I found it just not worth the trouble. An hour later and I'm on snows.

I picked up snow tires and rims for < $500, averaged over 5 years that's $100 for peace of mind.

fsy82 01-17-2012 09:53 AM

weather network is so fail..earlier this week they were expecting 10-15 cms of snowfall in metro Vancouver on Wednesday. now it says less than 1cm..lol

MindBomber 01-17-2012 10:01 AM

Snowing in Abbotsford, again.

skylinergtr 01-17-2012 10:36 AM

is it too much to hope for a blizzard for one day?

this 1 or 2cm a night isnt cutting it for me.

boostfever 01-17-2012 10:40 AM

sunny and clear in north van :alonehappy:

see.lai 01-17-2012 10:40 AM

When I have 2 days off, there is no snow.

This is gonna suck when I go back to work tomorrow.

MindBomber 01-17-2012 12:40 PM

Attempted to drive to school in Surrey from Abbotsford, had to turn around at 264th. Roads are terrible in the valley.

What's the number to call to report houses that repeatedly,
refuse to shovel their 3 inch thick of ice covered sidewalk?

The RCMP? The City? Which department?

i would assume you can start by calling 3-1-1 and ask them who to complain to:

Make sure the house(s) are not occupied by seniors. If so, you should shovel the snow for them. My mom is 90 years old and lives in a house all by herself. I can't be there all the time, but this young couple who lives next door, shovels the sidewalk for her.

Of course, I thank them and bring them stuff whenever I can. Good neighbours = priceless.
