Once again I went to bed to the lullaby of a dozen trucks/cars doing donuts with their engines revved right up and loud exhausts keeping me awake until 2am.

Hwy is pure shit. Create your own lane.. I feel back for the cars that try to go up hills and come to a stop and stay there with tires spinning. Had to use 4x4 high the entire way in doing an average of 50k on the highway watching the occasional truck fly past everyone doing an easy 100k thinking they're invincible. Good luck stopping idiots.

Lol 100%, getting going is easy it's the stopping part that will pucker your asshole up.

My commute was better than Monday except for the two assholes who got stuck near the highway backing traffic up like a km other than that smooth sailing.

Sections on Hwy 1 closed due to white out conditions.

Where abouts do you live? I can't find a good patch for me do enjoy the snow.

jokes aside that's super annoying

pastarocket 01-15-2020 07:43 AM

Thank goodness for winter tires and front wheel drive. -was able to drive up the hill on Grandview Hwy and Fraser in east Van without getting stuck. :smug:

The driver of the Odyssey in front of me needs to clear all the snow off the rear window. :rukidding:

BIC_BAWS 01-15-2020 07:45 AM

I'm commuting in Dodge dart with Goodyear Nordic Winter tires now. It's a pretty beasty winter beater. Ultimately one of the best courtesy cars I've ever had.

Defs FWD with winters > RWD with winters

i'd love to see boundary and Hastings this morning unless both cities plowed

twitchyzero 01-15-2020 07:58 AM

if they did it was likely over 4 hours ago

Vansterdam 01-15-2020 07:59 AM

man city of Vancouver didnt do shit all with any salt machines or plows on any of the major roads this morning.

got off the knight st bridge this morning around 6am? before 3 buses ended up gettin stuck half way up the hill and pretty much blocking all traffic heading into Vancouver.

I dont think any vehicles made it up that hill for a good 30 mins

Entire north parking lot is one giant playground once the mall closes. 9pm - 11pm is okay with me since the tv is usually on for background noise while my girlfriend reads her book. It's once she goes to bed that it becomes loud.

blkgsr 01-15-2020 08:03 AM

that's a great parking lot, only the few lights.

love how you can see the donuts lol

Hondaracer 01-15-2020 08:10 AM

East Van is fucked Hastings, Renfrew, McGill, all completely unplowed and fucked

fliptuner 01-15-2020 08:10 AM

Some of them are fun to watch. A simple donut turns in to an accidental 540 but get control again and save it

I was there at about 6am too. stupid cars blocking the foot of the slope both lanes going uphill. Lost all momentum going up there. I was able to turn right onto one of the side streets and go uphill.

dachinesedude 01-15-2020 08:31 AM

people with no snow tires really need to get off the road, these conditions even with snow tires are dicey

4x4 with Duratracs ftw though

Ronin 01-15-2020 08:43 AM

If you are over 30, do yourself a favor and buy a snowblower. Best $100 purchase I've made in years.

If you have kids, give them a shovel.

yray 01-15-2020 08:59 AM

holy fuck, had to accelerate in advance to get enough momentum to get going off a light

Badhobz 01-15-2020 09:00 AM

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Euro7r 01-15-2020 09:04 AM

Walked out of the house 7:20 to shovel snow, finished around 9am. Work from home day. So much snow, got my morning workout lol

Ronin 01-15-2020 09:41 AM

Where the fuck are all the snow plows today?

I'm lucky I get to work from home but I see people outside my place just skidding all over the place because the roads aren't cleared yet.
