Weakest excuse for speeding given the snow

http://www.theprovince.com/news/cloc...298/story.html

20 year old driver with an N clocked at 205km/h in a 110km/h zone, to make it worst, his excuse was that he wanted to avoid an incoming snowstorm.

You could get to that speed in any old jalopy on that stretch of highway.

That fact that its a Civic makes this even worse, it can barely stay on the road going 200km an hour in the best conditions, going in a straight line, driven by an experienced driver. The kid should see jail time.

I saw this on the news earlier. Dude is a new driver, didn't have his license on him, didn't display his N, almost doubled the already-fast-in-the-snow speed limit, and the car wasn't even his.

how did he manage to get a regular civic to do 200+km/h...

i dont think WRC cars even go that fast on the snow...... (then again, the wr cars run on studs too)

I don't think so either, but rally cars don't drive on the highway. Given a long enough straight stretch almost any car with any driver can break 200+km/h..

The article didn't say anything about the driver's excuse about incoming snowstorms. It just said that the cops didn't go on a pursuit because of the weather conditions.

ya.. thats pretty fast for a civic... this is the best my friend could pull off during summer in "best driving cond"
taken from facebook

but in snow..thats.. is just stupid...

for all those WRC cars..the gear ratio tops out @ 241kph for most courses...
