lol only the games are cheap...other than that..:/

boxing day sale sure has become nothing but a shitty sale event painted with the image of "crazy boxing day bargain". These deals appear throughout the year.

If anyone out there wants something inconspicuous (i.e. Bose but with way better sound) Best Buy has a 5.1 Boston Acoustics micro-speaker set for $399 this week. I listened to them earlier this year at another specialty retailer and they're actually pretty good for such small speakers.

Best Buy has this Yamaha system on sale for $399, $300 off, on boxing day:

I cannot find a review of it online though...

DHP 1 12-22-2010 07:48 AM

if i bought something say last week, will they price match the same item thats on sale on boxing day?

hotjoint 12-22-2010 07:56 AM

boxing day sales have been weak for a long time

choda 12-22-2010 08:04 AM

I don't know why, but I feel like since A&B sound went under, boxing day just wasn't the same.

You might be able to, but from my experience they sometimes don't pm during boxing day.

I think FS and BB both have price matching till Jan 2. I wouldn't try getting a refund on the 26th though.

It is likely a Best Buy Canada exclusive. The receiver appears to be the HTR3063 which is Yamaha's entry level model: http://www.yamaha.ca/av/Receivers/HTR3063.jsp

The receiver doesn't have on-board DTS-HD/Dolby TrueHD decoding, so make sure you set your PS3/Blu-Ray to "LPCM" as opposed to Bitstream.

Only if you find a noob employee otherwise the policy is that boxing day prices do not get price matched

DHP 2 12-22-2010 10:16 AM

:haha::haha: lol thx a lot guys

ilvtofu 12-22-2010 12:53 PM

Hmm if that is the case wouldn't it save them work/time if they have the product in stock?

Is it a possibility to buy the product again at boxing day price and refund it with your old receipt on the same day? I can't see why not, unless they are not doing refunds on boxing day, if that's the case just come back the next day, the product won't be opened anyways.

sarger604 12-22-2010 01:19 PM

nothing worth lining up for so far this year IMO

yes u can, but the question is r the savings really worth the wait in line for boxing day.
oh and u cant refund on boxing day, most places dont process refunds on that day.

NLY 12-22-2010 02:36 PM

used to work for future shop.

stock from 2 years prior comes back in bulk.

prices are almost the same as regular season, sometimes more expensive.

used to make barriers with boxes to block customers rushing in.

money was great but i would never do it again.

drunkrussian 12-22-2010 03:34 PM

is it just me or does it seem like this year the pre-xmas sales are better than the boxing day sales? a lotta really good sales and one day only events

StylinRed 12-22-2010 04:35 PM

A&B used to be the only real place for deals sadly bad decisions and futureshop ran em out :/

visions' website is down due to "system upgrades" maybe they'll have something good

murd0c 12-22-2010 04:47 PM

all I know is boxing day is a joke these days. I will check it out later in the day to see if theres anything good but I don't see any point in waiting outside a store for 5 hours to get $200 off on a tv. It's better off going later in the day and seeing what ok deals you can find that people of missed or there was so much stock it will take them a week to sell it all.

Meowjin 12-22-2010 05:46 PM

I need a laptop for school and I think the duo core ones from fs might suffice. Ill wait to see what ncix has

My buddy picked up a Vizio at the beginning of the year, and when he first told me about it, I was like WTF? What the shit is a Vizio?

But it's a nice tv, I was super impressed. I don't think you can get a nicer tv in this price range for what you get.
