I would if it was easy to turn on and off. I do use them at home. It would be nice if it were a cookie setting so it remembers the setting on my work laptop and have a different setting on other computers. I tried image blocking via Firefox but that just blocks all images from RS.

I hated the members who would fail others in a thread they wouldn't even post in or those who would have a beef with another member, stalk them out and fail them in any new post the member posted.

The fail button will not be missed.

You missed the memo. You will get banned, instead. The ultimate fail.

That is only by mods, though. Lesser unintelligent comments would go by more so. That is until they install a ban button accessible to every user.

There are no NSFW Avatars. All avatars are non porn and safe for work... although some come close ;)

Berz out.

Honestly, I'm kind of against this Fail function being removed.

I always proof read my posts prior to posting to avoid Fails, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Now with the Fail button removed I'm 99% sure everybody who proof reads, including myself will not proof read as often, or might not even proof read at all, which will result in a lot of hard to read/understand posts.

Yes, it can help derail threads, but now Fight Club will be more empty than it already is, if e-thugs can't get mad over somebody failing one of their posts.

The Fail Button helps me screen through the good and bad posts in the Fucked up shit that makes you laugh forum, as well as the Twanger and White Chicks thread.

Revscene is the only forum I've ever seen that has anything as unique as the Fail button, and while I thought it was retarded in the beginning, I found that it actually is kind of fun, entertaining and useful.

Not having a fail button is like being in a Kindergarten Class, where you have to play nice all the time, and can only encourage each other. I see the good in taking away the fails, but I believe the bad outweighs the good.

Just my two cents.

hmm.... I dunno.. I kinda liked the fail button.

Berzerker 12-21-2010 12:26 AM

Damn it I saw Arash's name and my first instinct was to Fail.... but I can't :(

Oh well at least I can say I got his 1000th fail.

Berz out.

Those ones had their access revoked permanently. All you had to do was report abuse.

I understand your point completely and it makes a lot of sense, but there's one thing I would like to add. Removing the fail button has not forced everyone to place nice and encourage each other, it's only forced people to take their time and consider fellow members points more carefully. When you disagree with someone you won't be able to quickly fail someone or jump on band wagons, you'll now need to take the time to write a post stating why you disagree.

I believe removing the fail button will be a great improvement to the forum, because people will be more honest in their posts and members will take the time to write rebuttals since they can't just click fail.

LOL. Smart guy.

Yes, you need at least 100 if I remember correctly.

The fail button works. It prevented posts like this. Nuff Said.

Berz out.

Tim Budong 12-21-2010 01:06 AM

The fail button would work better if we couldnt fail n00bs with less than 50posts or somethin

and only in specific forums so those certain members would be forced to be active and give constructive criticism/opinion on the given topic

hchang 12-21-2010 01:08 AM

Please view and Vote.

Thanks :)

well at least AznNightmare won't be failing people just because he's too stupid to understand most of the posts.

EmperorIS 12-21-2010 01:48 AM

from now on THANKS MEANS FAIL!!!!!!!!!!

donjalapeno 12-21-2010 01:49 AM

Revscene is going to be so peaceful now :)

MindBomber 12-21-2010 02:02 AM

I'm looking forward to seeing how this affects the forum, somehow I doubt we will see a significant increase in trolling or stupid posts. Remember, this is one of the only forums who have a fail button and the problem with trolls on RS is comparable to every other forum I have ever been on.

The edit post function was removed on civicforums, that made people think carefully about what they wanted to say.

Oleophobic 12-21-2010 02:18 AM

if we bring back fails can we make it so admins can be failed too
