Edit : we just have different definitions of strong division. Lol

Agreed

I never understood why the admins were Fail-Proof. Without the users and the admins there would be no site.

The fail button did help weed the bad from the good. It'd be interesting to find out why the fail button was introduced in the first place.

For clarification I am an admin and I have never been fail proof! I don't believe admins or mods are any better than new members or old members.

They should make it so that for every year you've been a member, you need to be given that many fails before it registers. Membership should have it's privileges.

ie. noobs get failed easier and I need 7 fails to show 1

:fuckyea:

!Tigger 12-21-2010 11:32 PM

but, whos willing to write a new script for that?

rJZx 12-21-2010 11:33 PM

We should also implement if a post gets failed lets say 15-20 times *arash*
members can click another button "troll" and if 20 people click that the person gets banned....

how about ...
for every year x number of years you've been a member, you get that many x number of fails per day?

hopefully it weeds out the new accounts that fail stalk. and brings accountability to older members?

the fail isnt perfect but it can definitely be refined.

fliptuner 12-22-2010 12:59 AM

I like my way better because the level of fail has to be higher to show up. It helps negate fails from people who can't accept a different opinion or being corrected (rightly so) and retali-fails.

Your motive for wanting a revised fail system that favors long term members, by preventing them from receiving childish fails is identical to the reason I want to see fails taken away. Regardless of how long you've been on the forum you still share space with fail happy members like asianxl, who fail people just because they disagree with your opinion.

OK, then.......... we should have a "Fail" smilie.

Edit: Come to think of it, that wouldn't work. Too many replies with quotes and fail smilie after it. NVM............. time to take some ritalin.

I think he realised that his combative, arrogant posting style would probably get him one the highest fail counts on the board.

I will admit though, even if I disagreed with him he at least had good reasoning behind his opinions... I remember getting in arguments with him from way back, the difference now is that I've mellowed out in the amount of flamage and name calling where he has not really done the same.

1990TSI 12-24-2010 12:27 AM

I'd hope you've mellowed out, you bought your mustang new from the dealer

Razor Ramon HG 12-24-2010 12:30 AM

So why the hell did I get points and my posts removed by SkinnyPupp when I mentioned him, and everyone else in the thread is doing the same? Jesus fucking christ.

Everyone's posts about him get deleted. If you don't mind, PM me what you wrote. I'd love to see what you wrote that got you points, haha.

Considering the fail rating means ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL, does it really matter? So someone goes through failing every post he sees - it doesn't affect the posters, or the price of gas, or global warming, or anything else except making that person look like a douche... so really, who cares?

FAILs should be returned, and made applicable to every member in every forum, simply because they're there for FUN. Use them if you want, don't use them if you don't, and if you get failed, laugh about it and suck it up like a big boy, because they mean ABSOLUTELY FUCK ALL.

Agreed with you 100%. The Thanks/Fail feature was a FUN part of RS.
