I don't think I ever used the fail button. If I didn't agree with someone's post, I hit the reply button and let them know why instead of hitting the fail button with no explanation.

I do that too, yet it gets me banned :D

I do agree that it can get out of hand, people just angry at one user and fail stalking all posts....

fail stalkers who were reported lost their privileges immediately. i don't think abuse was the issue here, but rather the negative connotation it gave the forum as a whole.

although, the fail button was hella fun at times :D

at the end of the day the fail button is just for fun.
if you're crying about a fail after you log off and continue real life, you have deep issues.

I said it was a strong division, because the opposing sides both have very strongly held views on the issue.

Fail. There is no division. 3 out of 4 people want the fail button back. You know what's a strong division? Bush in America because 50% support him and 50% don't.

I never understood why the admins were Fail-Proof. Without the users and the admins there would be no site.

The fail button did help weed the bad from the good. It'd be interesting to find out why the fail button was introduced in the first place.
