I wrote the test about 3-4 weeks ago, and when i finished the test they handed me sheet that had a checkbox ticked off saying "will call for interview", so i assumed i would be called in for a second interview however i still havent. The sheet also had a checkbox for "scheduled for interview" and than went on to list the time and date. So my assumption is if they told you the time and date for ur second interview on the testing day, you have a shot otherwise your out of luck like me.

No check boxes or anything. Typical government exam. However, they missed the "do not disclose contents" disclaimer though.

I can see that some people might fall into a few traps. It's easy but still becareful.

It's retarded how they do things, I got a call to go do the test. Did my test last tuesday, get another call on wednesday they left a voicemail. I though oh wow interviews already call them back and the girl was like soooo are you still interested in the job, we can book you for testing. Told her I already took the test, she apologizes for her mistake, I get a call again from them on Friday asking to go for testing and they apologized again.

What a tesase.....

Stats Can might have contracted out the hiring process to a consultant... The place I went to do the testing today doesn't even have government offices.

Anyone have info?

Same here,

How long does it usually take after writing the test that one gets called for an interview?

lubbyda 03-11-2011 11:30 PM

so i did my test 2 weeks ago and i still havent heard back. Im assuming my passed my test cause it was ridiculously easy. I signed the check out sheet.

My question is: Was there any other forms to sign after the test? I had to leave early cause i had prior commitments. The chinese lady going through instructions said the whole process (test and whatever else was needed) would take about 2 hours. The test itself is 30 mins.

Im asking this because she wasnt really clear, and i had to leave early. If i had additional forms to sign i don't want it to be the reason why im not getting a call back for an interview and will contact them...

thanks

They are calling right now, just got a call earlier this afternoon but I was busy at that moment.

They don't schedule interviews. Instead, the phone interviews are on the spot. Be on the look out for (604)658-XXXX

I'm located in Calgary AB, and I got called today to go in for the test. Just a question for everyone here, for those who have worked for Census Canada before, what exactly does a Enumerator do? I know there's a brief outline of what the tasks required of you are, but I was just curious from first hand experience. Thanks in advance!

If you can do it fast (walk fast, talk fast, fill the form fast), then you can easily get $30-40 per hour. What I like about the job is that it's pretty straight forward. You have a list of addresses to go to, and you have to visit that house every day until they answer the door. You also have to spam them with phone calls too. When they answer, just ask them the survey questions. At the end of the day, just drop off the surveys at your supervisor's house.

What I didn't like is that you are often assigned an area not close to your house. I live in the south vancouver area. I was assigned Kingsway and 12 or so. Also, there were lots of apartments in that area where the main door is locked. That was hard to get in. Also, there was definitely some risk involved. I had to go into people's houses (or at their door). Some people look very sketchy.

BWAHHH 04-06-2011 07:24 PM

Thanks, I can't believe I forgot I read that, I read this a few weeks ago thinking I didn't make the cut for the screening process. Turns out I did and forgot I even read about the job description. :stupid:

rageguy 04-06-2011 08:16 PM

Speaking of my past Census experience, there were lots of interesting stories. From horny mature women to obvious drug dealing gangsters to super smelly people and even overly friendly people who offered me dinner. Also, this job showed me how run down some houses can be. You'll be surprised that a lot of house interiors are virtually the same as a dumpster.

twitchyzero 04-07-2011 02:20 PM

got the interview today..4 standard scenario questions..and they just confirm your references.
i thought all work starts in may...but some can start as late as july
lol wtf

jing 04-07-2011 02:54 PM

Finally got the call to take the test!

Sensations 04-07-2011 03:09 PM

Yeah got a call today and all the interview is, is 4 scnarios like what would you do, example of how you took leadership, a time when you had to work with someone who you didn't like etc... Then its just comfirming ur idntity and references
