do pixar use their own software or are they using third party software?

Edit: NVM I found out they use their own proprietary software

this reminds me of an episode of Chef Abroad where Michael Smith went to visit the Google HQ...of course his show is more food oriented but the vibe is exactly the same

ive been IN the studio 2ce my sister works out there.

pixar actually started making animated shorts as a way to show off their software's (renderman) capabilities, which i think it was originally designed for medical industry. someone at disney found out about it, and they started making feature length animations together.
