I was in a similar situation. A guy rear ended me in my 3 month old car, his license plate screws left some markings on my bumper. It was hardly noticable, but it's textured plastic so you can't sand it off and you can't paint it. The guy was being an ass, wouldn't give me his insurance papers at first, and was offering to give me $200 cash on the spot.

After much yelling back and forth, I got his DL, insurance papers and he told me to bring it to a shop, get a quote and phone him back. Since he was being a douch, I just went to ICBC, got my entire rear bumper replaced since I have new car cost replacement insurance and the total bill was like $2000. Didn't cost me any deductible.

It would probably be safer for you to just go through ICBC.

Sounds about right. The previous owner of my car (also an Acura TSX) had a few dings on the rear bumper from license plate bolts and other various scrapes. The body shop that did my front end work wanted $500 to remove and repaint the rear bumper.

Normally the whole panel (in this case the entire rear bumper cover) has to be repainted as it's very difficult to blend just a spot on a panel with satisfactory results.

But its my fault, I am trying to not make my insurance go up. I understand how a small little accident like this can cost me 560$ so i guess it is better to just pay her off and get some proof that i've paid her so she can't fuck me over again right?
