If you think it's to expensive tell her to go to ICBC. You can still pay for the damages but you won't have to pay any more then the repairs cost. If I was her I would probably just go to ICBC anyway.

even if you pay out of pocket she still might go to icbc afterwards and try to screw you, so just be sure theres some way out of that.

or better yet,
tell her to go get the paint chip repaired and then have her mail you the invoice

thanks for the info. but why would it be 560? it usualy costes around 200 dollars to do spot painting unless she wants a new bumper repainted for her.... :S

because if you were making an insurance claim, the shops want to make it look the best as well as maximize their revenue. So they sand and paint the whole bumper. Spot painting won't give you the best results. Shops are not going to help you penny pinch if they know the cost is being covered.

Isnt spot painting recommended? because the bumper wont be the same color as the car??

If it's his fault it goes on his insurance. He loses safe driving and he'll have to pay the deductible.
His insurance will probably go up.

It may not be worth him going that route.
In the long run, it might be better just to give her the $500.

I would still go through ICBC if I were her. Just saves headaches imo.
not good for you though.

Go through ICBC, and pay icbc.
The color will be spot painted, but they still have to clear the entire thing or it'll look like shit.
The bumper needs to get taken off and reinstalled, which isnt free.
$560 is a pretty average price, it just seems ridiculous because it's a small spot.

$560 to fix something that minor on the bumper sounds reasonable.

What generation was her TSX? She might want you to pay cash / as oppose to through ICBC (even if you pay out the repair cost through ICBC) , because she doesn't want it to show up on her record. As she might be planning to sell it back out.

If her TSX is fairly new, you can use the above point to negotiate with her. Maybe something around $450-500...and tell her its to her advantage it won't be on her car's history.

Take pictures in case the damage all of a sudden grows.

Ask for invoice and take it from there.

Does she look lonely? Hee hee.........

EDIT: nevermind, she might start stalking you. LOL Pay the $560.00

it is on the expensive side of a bumper job, but the price still seems about right. R&I Bumper, and Paint.

You don't have to declare them when you sell if there less then $2000 but if someone does a search they'll still show up.

Quote sounds about right. Ask to see her quote, telling her to put it through icbc is a gamble it could be less, could be more. If you hit me I wouldn't waste my time getting 3 quotes.
