Carbon Fibre hoods/parts

Question about carbon fibre hoods/parts. Would like to see if its worth re-clearing.

My car came with a CF hood which didn't look too great because of the clear coat. I had the clear coat refinished once before and it looked good as new.

Few years later the clear coat started going again.....
What causes the clear coat to go bad on the CF hood?
Could it be the heat from the engine bay or is the damage done from the sun?

I want to get my hood refinished once more but fear that the clear coat will get messed up again. What is the best way to take care of carbon fibre parts?

Not exactly sure what brand my hood is but my friend has a seibon hood and it appears to have the same effect. Seems to be a common problem on carbon fibre parts.

You are so far behind my friend lol
I did reclear my hood via spray bombs, looked fine after buffing but did not last.
I'm not sure what the cause is, but I assume it's the type of clear coat and engine heat.
My plan to reclear the hood is, sanding it with 500, 1000, wet sand 1500. Then get it cleared at a shop with proper UV protecting clear. Then high temp black the underside. There's none of that factory insulation stuff on the underside.

Perhaps it's the UV from the sun. Didn't GM use a special additive in the CF bits on the Corvette to prevent UV problems? If I remember it's $60,000 per gallon.

I don't want to get the hood re-done and come across the same problem. I might just get the hood painted over to match the colour of the car.

i haven't had a problem with my hood but it also doesn't see rain/snow and is garage parked all year long. did u polish your hood with any waxes/sealants after the first re-clear-coating? i would imagine the fading wouldn't happen so quickly with some regular polishing.

Any good recommendations for a shop that can put on a good layer of UV coating on some CF parts??
