North America stuck with crappy wagons.

Why dont we get the cool stuff like like the evo wagon or the rs4 wagon. All we get are endless variations of suv's. The only other possible alternative is to build a volvo wagon but even those are getting near 4000lbs. Are there any awd wagons out there worth tinkering with that i'm forgetting?

There is the WRX wagon, and the A4 Avant is pretty much your best bet for an Audi wagon with quattro.

The market here is people-hauling minivans because of our big roads. I'm guessing that the market for wagons is large in Europe because of road size, and small-displacement diesel engines are better suited for wagons. I could be wrong about the diesel thing, but TDI Jetta Wagons seem to be popular here.

Even the USDM Acura TSX has a garbage trim, only 4 cyl. and only automatic transmission.

you can get a cts wagon with AWD, which is pretty nice if you ask me... and you can also get it with 550hp and 6spd manual which is quite awesome

Useless when it's not AWD. That looks so bulky it has to be over 4000Lbs without awd.

Just go and put a Hennessey V800 kit on it. Weight problem solved!

oh no it weighs 4000lbs, its a luxury performance station wagon what the hell you expect? You want a roomy station wagon but you also want it to be lightweight?

Id be willing to bet your RS4 wagon is pretty damn close to 4000 lbs as well.

v10tt rs6 vs a lil evo wagon. Guy goes full retard on the evo yet the rs6 has nearly double the power.
This video explains it better. If i'm getting something that weighs 4000+lbs i may as well get an suv.
Whats the point of rwd power in vancouver where it rains and snows?
Lux puts me to sleep. I want something more raw to keep me alert. RS4 avant is 3638lbs. Evo wagon is 3300lbs. If the cts-v had awd it'd be even heavier than it is now.
The imprezza wagon is abit small compared to the other two. While with the bmw's there not exactly much u can do with them.

you have the answer here.
Auto makers think that North Americans are all of the SUV and they don't see a point in bringing in wagons.
if you look at the places in the world where they have lots of wagons; they have few SUVs

Take a look at these things going around the nurburgring and tell me that car is "useless" when it comes to performance. It's no GTR or ZR1 but the CTS-V is sweet.

Anyways, with the shift to CUVs I'm sure you'll be seeing a lot more hot CUVs in the next few years

Which is on par with other Luxo-Wagon in that class.

5-Series touring: 4300
E-350 Wagon: 4350

What did you think luxury wagons were made of, feathers and pixie dust??

talk to any of your "non car friends"

everyone will say "ewww, a wagon? why would you ever buy that! it's so ugly!!"

only car enthusiasts appreciate wagons. most people that want a bigger car will settle for a SUV.

i love wagons/avants/variants/aerodycks/tourings etc...

but most people will see wagons as station wagons of the 70's. north americans love bigger the better mentality.
