"Sex, Lies and Audiotape" with Rhona Raskin on Z95.3 was addictive to listen to sometimes, as the callers were often so clueless. But there was one caller who was crying and said she had discovered her fiance in bed with her mom.

Anyone else remember Crystal Pepsi & Orbitz drinks?

ziggyx 06-27-2012 10:13 AM

^ Whatever happened to Orbitz or Clearly Canadian drinks lol.

I heard rumours that some kid choked on an Orbitz drink but I never really believed it because the balls were so small.

I remember when Woodward's had their big Lego event. I mainly remember the space Lego displays. I'm pretty sure I have the souvenir magazine at my parent's place.

I remember there was this one 'male-oriented' radio station that used to play Tom Leykis and Phil Hendrie. Anybody remember what it was called?

JSALES 06-28-2012 05:20 PM

i think they played 90's hip-hop straight for few months just to test the airwaves before it was manned with DJs.

A year later it became the new Z

lol The Beat is still a 'new' station to me. Didn't it start like less than 10 years ago?

I remember XFM first launching they did the same thing of straight rock with no DJ's; I believe I was in Grade 10ish when XFM launched.

Z is a grandfather compared to The Beat.

ae101 07-02-2012 08:45 AM

back then there was not download for music so radio was the best thing we had in the car

vafanculo 07-02-2012 12:32 PM

Ya the beat started off awesome. At the time, the only rap music we had on the radio was if we were lucky to pick up a poor signal of Cube fm from seattle.

I'm old enough to remember Consumers Distributing. They'd send you a catalog every year. You go to the store, and fill out a slip of what you want. I remember going there with my dad to buy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures. It took me so long to get all of them. All of them were usually out of stock, except Raphael. :P. I also remember a friend pointing out the "personal massager" dildo in the catalog. Good times.

I remember buying a necklace for one of my first GF's from Consumers. I think I bought one of these from there too, for a cousin's b-day:
