I think we have good players and most of us play defense. But its near impossible to beat elite teams. The skill discrepancy is very wide. Its like Crosby vs Nashville.

I think I might give my player an extra skill boost. Going from superstar 1 to 2 is taking me forever

A lot of times I accidentally call for the puck because I think I'm gonna get the puck instead of someone else, and I've already hit pass to do a quick one time pass... Triggering a stick tap

Try going to legend. It's freaking ridiculous. I'm shy of getting an average of A- , and levelling up through club or drop in games are getting tedious. Sometimes the drop in players on your team suck ass which doesn't help you out.

my major pet peeves about drop-ins game:

- defencemen playing like a forward, no matter what, he's always up there, doesn't get the hint.

- players who don't pass back to the defencemen. we're always wide open, look for us!


today i played two drop-in games in a row and wow, for the first time I had amazing teammates. They all played their position, they used the defencemens at the point, it was amazing chemistry. Felt like playing on my club team with my friends.

I never tap my stick. i see idiots all the time doing this the first chance they see the play turning around. It's so annoying!

I always pass back to the point and try to get deflections off slappers from the D. Deflections work wonders in this game.

Honestly with all the tuner updates and patches, it's just gotten worse. I think version 1.00 was better, even with the OP hipchecks.

not necessarily. My defenceman is a 2 way defender, and I've recently changed his attributes lowering down his checking and increasing discipline and stick checking. Discipline is at 90+ while stick checking is 90+ and defence awareness is 99.

Poke checking for the puck works wonders without getting any penalties at all! Give it at try!

I never played the recent Madden, NBA, or Soccer games but can anyone tell me how realistic they are?

The NHL series is clearly far from realistic no matter what they claim.


I can't believe we're at NHL 12 now and they still haven't dumbed down the ability to figure skate. The puck needs to be looser when handled by players. When do u ever see anyone go full speed towards a puck in their own corner with an opposing player chasing him, grab the puck and do an immediate 180 and skate up with the puck? I hope EA steps it up next year and make it more realistic when it comes to puck control.

I've been playing a lot with Van19, Jmac, Rmac and Nassy16.. we're pretty responsible defensively but its just so frustrating to see ppl skate by you. And when you think you have all the lanes covered, they somehow throw Sedin like saucers for a one-timer (over and over again during the game)

I think I'm gonna get away from this game once i reach legend level..

how do you do a one timer online?

Hold LT (L2 on PS3), and hold up. if someone passes to u you'll automatically one-time it.

Holding LT (L2) first is to prevent your player from accidentally bodycheck instead.

do you hold up or do you tap it?

Hold. You can litterally just stand in a spot and hold LT+Up all day long. Don't even need to look lol
