What the fuck was that chinese woman saying? I was waiting for a translator voice-over. Haha Posted via RS Mobile |

imagine 0.1% of the mainland chinese move to Vancouver, it will wipe us out. There's almost little to almost nothing we can do anything about it. It is a free market, you can't ban people from buying houses. |

only solution: make moar money :fuuuuu: |
i hate how they are screwing up our market. it makes it so much harder for individuals to get into buying their first home (like me! :fuuuuu:) |
What makes you think they have/need jobs? Quote:
|
^ exactly. they're just here to invest. put down a down payment and rent out the property to get more cash and repeat the process. it's not uncommon for them to have several expensive properties. this is horrible because even when the market is starting to cool off, these idiots are still around looking to buy yet another property so the market numbers never get a chance to come down significantly. |
move or blame our previous premier who was a real estate developer lol. His first big move in inflating prices was making point grey not part of metro vancouver, an area he lived in. |
Seriously for all you people that bitch about the prices being too high and wanting them to drop so you can buy in. Maybe I'm wrong but tell me this. If not for a job that pays better elsewhere, where else in the world would you rather live? From there compare the cost of living vs vancouver. Based on that I'm thinking prices will just flatline for a looong time or continue going up rather than this "big crash down" that everyone is expecting. |

People who defend Vancouver with the passion live in their own bubble. You want proof that people do get up and leave? Look at other NHL games around the league where the canucks are playing. Those are your ubc trained professionals in the stands that couldn't get jobs here. |
There is no cooling off. My friend who's looking to buy a house in Burnaby says the house gets sold very quickly after it gets listed, and usually for like 50k over the asking price. Those real estate agents are making what a person makes normally in a year in every transaction. So much for a fucking job that doesn't even require much skill  |
I don't hate on mainlanders, but then this is getting a bit ridiculous. I guess there's not much that can be done? |
Not much the average citizen can do about it |
