^Good job on the cable management:thumbsup: I just installed a white LED strip that I found today. It was a spare from when I bought some to do door sill LED mod for my previous car. I'll post picture when I get some good shots. |
Here are some pics I took today:D http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/DSC_0451.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/DSC_0442.jpg Found a new mounting location for my SSD so that I can remove both of the HDD cage:fuckyea: http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/DSC_0449.jpg |
Pic no work... |
pics should be fixed now...? |
Nice setup. Which white LEDs are you using? NZXT? |

^^^^ They look like the top one in the picture. Had 3M tape on the back just needed to solder a molex connector to it and hide/stick it in the case :p http://www.led-lighting-systems.net/images/0130-029.jpg |
http://img196.imageshack.us/img196/1189/img0129gb.jpg Now in crossfire. Only thing left is swap the fans on the H70 and swap out the 200mm fan up top with 4 Coolermaster Sickleflow's http://images17.newegg.com/is/image/...63-S01?$S300W$ ps. F.E.A.R 3 is pretty good except that its fps is cap'd to 30. |

:h5: Same for me just waiting for the Sickflows to go on sale haha. The corsair fans on the H70 sounds like jets taking off when on full speed. |
I think I got them for $5 each (Price match on NCIX). I wanted the noctua's but for $20 a fan its just crazy to spend that much. Plus they are ugly :p |
Oh yeah I tried to price match them too at Memory Express but they wouldn't do it. For some reason the red LED sickflows have two different parts number but they look identical though. Memory Express wouldn't budge so I did not buy at that time. I actually want something without LED (It's getting too colorful inside the case :p) and really want the Scythe gentle typhoons but they are always out of stock/back ordered everywhere and yes the noctua P12s are just too damn ugly. |

Oops reading fail on my part. LOL But sick DIY, makes the interior look very futuristic. I'll probably be getting a strip too if I cant get my top 200 shine bright enough after LED swap. I'm looking to get some sickflow R4's too for the front of my case except I'll be swapping the LEDs for white again. |
Thanks! I think I got mine from about 2-3 years ago from DealExtreme but I don't remember paying that much for them. Maybe they increased the price? 12V Flexible Cuttable LED Tape They have a lot more in different length and color. Maybe try ebay to see if you can get some for cheaper. Also, is swapping out LEDs difficult? Two more night shots and I'm done whoring my case, for now :D http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/DSC_0458.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...D/DSC_0460.jpg |
^ ever thought about routing your power cords thru the grommet instead of the cut out hole? |

Changing LEDs should be fairly straight forward (peel off glue, desolder, position, solder, fap) but the ones on the PCB of the Phantom's fan controller requires a really sharp tip soldering gun and very still hands. I checked out the top 200mm and it looks pretty easy to do. I'm planning to have all white lighting except for power LED, which if I can find the right one, will be color shifting, kinda like those light poles @ Production station. |
The NZXT sleeved LED's are pretty nice. Has a controller for it too to adjust brightness and turn on/off. Thanks to whomever recommended them. I was originally going to use the same lights as joquio too. |
here's clearer pic of mine. Loving the the all black with white lighting http://i452.photobucket.com/albums/q...0626-00304.jpg |
I decided I wanted to get a second monitor... Not wanting to get annoyed by having two different ones, I made an effort to find a matching one on Craigslist. A month later, I now have this. http://i.imgur.com/KZmDf.jpg The downside is, they're too fucking close to my eyes. http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._2786500_n.jpg http://a2.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot..._6479160_n.jpg I was thinking about getting a Corsair 600T. But I find that the Coolermaster Sniper case I'm using to be better for air cooling. Specs: Coolermaster Storm Sniper Case AMD Phenom II X2 550 BE (Unlocked 3.1GHz Dual Core to quad core unlock @ 3.75GHz) Xigamet HDT-S1283 Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P Mushkins HP3 DDR3-1600 4x2GB XFX Radeon 4870 2x Dell 2209WA IPS monitors. Thanks, I didn't notice that grommet hole until you mentioned. I'll re-route my cable when I get home. Quote:
Where do you get your replacement LED from? BTW, I'll probably get some NZXT extension cable to murder out the cables. NZXT 24PIN ATX Power Extension Cable NZXT 6PIN Video Card Extension Cable Then I'll be done for now............or maybe upgrade my sound card? :fuuuuu: Xonar vs X-fi ? |

I'm looking at the same extensions too. Canada doesn't get too many choices for brand/color (bitfenix has a bunch of sick colors even silver, amazon USA got the white versions of nzxt's, etc). Tbh they're a bit expensive but then again I can't stand the gay bacon coming out of my mobo and gpu. Would be sweet if I can get all 3 cables for around $10 but I don't think that's gonna happen, haha A lot of ppl seem happy with their xonars, but I haven't really been in the loop for audio stuff. Onboard does the job for me lol Posted via RS Mobile |
Yeah those extension are way overpriced than what they are worth. But yeah.... I too hate those rainbow cables. Just saw the white ones you mentioned on Amazon.com and they do look sweet! I'll probably stick to the black ones coz I think the white ones look cooler if you have a white case. But $30+ for 1x24pin and 2x6pin extension cable is really bum raping... :ratedb: |
Awww shietttt.... I didn't even think about getting black cables.....the rainbow coloured shit drives me nuts too |
Scratch what I said about Bitfenix not available here. NCIX will have them (not in stock though), and for cheaper than NZXT ones! http://www.ncix.com/search/?categoryid=0&q=bitfenix |
So decided to dig up the third monitor (I knew the OC DVD's would come in handy someday lol). Installed the 4 sickleflow's, got about a 3-4 degree temp drop, and the noise is bearable now. http://img833.imageshack.us/img833/1111/gopr0037.jpg http://img853.imageshack.us/img853/8669/gopr0050z.jpg |
DAMNNNNNNNNNNNN........ Maybe I should take my other two screens and set em up to compete. LOL You have me beat. I don't have enough space for 3 monitors. I used to have two on the gaming one, moved it to the pr0n comp. Becuz of all you bastards I have to keep upgrading and buying cool new gadgets. First the sleeved lighting. Now the sleeve power cables. This will never end. |
