Full extent of the law and hopefully there won't be a next time.

I actually hope those with the means are fined, huge and those without are jailed and made to do a lot of community service. Why can't we have chain gangs?

i'm sure when these cases get to court they'll get the book. i think it's going to be like all the shootings a few years ago when the public outrage just got crazy. they will drop the hammer on these fools.

scottsman 06-17-2011 03:35 AM

If you actually pay attention to the videos you will notice that there a couple guys that show up in multiple videos in different locations.

Harvey Specter 06-17-2011 04:01 AM

Looks like the VPD is going to have a field day with the amount of video and photo evidence and good luck to all the idiots who decided to kick that already torched car because you might get charged, lol.

Quote:

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - Between smart phones, cameras, and news crews, there's no shortage of crystal clear images and video from the riot.

Vancouver Police are hoping they will lead to convictions for those who took part in the destruction, and one lawyer says that evidence will stand.

News1130 legal analyst Michael Shapray says once police know who submitted the photos, and are certain about the identity of the people in them, prosecution is straight forward. "A still picture is obviously much more difficult than a video, because still pictures can be taken out of context. Video evidence can be very strong. I think it will make prosecution of people doing things captured on video very easy."

He says the hooligans could be nailed with a variety of offences: from mischief, theft, robbery, and break and enter, to assault and obstruction of justice.

He warns those who spurred the thugs on are also subject to charges. "People there cheering vandals on and promoting their activities could theoretically be charged as a party of the offence through the 'aiding and abetting' provisions of the criminal code."

He notes even someone who might have taken a single kick at an overturned car can be charged
.

I can't believe that he's been in Canada for at least 17 years, and still doesn't have a basic grasp of the English language at the age of 30...

The judge should send him to 1000 hours of E.S.L class.

Some bias as a Vancouverite and/or Canucks fan is expected but REALLY?

There are literally thousands of photos and hundreds of videos circulating the web on this riot and in just about ever single photo/video you see hundreds (maybe even thousands) of bozos in Canucks gear either directly participating in the carnage or cheering on the bozos and you think Canucks fans had no part in this? Clearly hundreds of losers who also happened to be Vancouverites and Cancucks fans participated/edged this to happen! Though we now know that there were some in the crowd who came just to riot, there were hundreds (maybe thousands?) of bozos wearing cancucks gear who loitered for hours after the police ordered them to disperse, the same hundreds in 'nucks gear who stayed relishing in the carnage posing and taking pictures of themselves...and you think "real" Canucks fans had no part in this? Wow I am out of word.

Thanks Jah Dean. The riot wasn't STARTED by fans, it was started by pricks who were looking to start trouble regardless of the outcome of the game. You do see a lot of people in Canucks gear doing stuff but any idiot can go buy a t shirt or jersey, and in a lot of footage I've seen most of the actions aren't started by people in Canucks gear, but people in jerseys and such join in.

There's also videos/pictures of him dancing around a fire, skating beside one and causing mayhem. Don't label a villain a hero.

Or are you asserting that the hundreds of people donning Canucks gear caught on video rioting were all anarchists in disguise? If so, thats one hell of a impressive conspiracy they pulled off.

I mean I wouldn't say every single one, but really man how hard is it to get a hold of some fake canuck jerseys like 20-30 bucks a pop lol? its not like you need to prove you know your hockey before they sell you one lol

That's what I have been thinking. He's just a drunken cretin like anyone else. He just happened to want to pick a fight with some of the rioters who were flipping cars

(No Sound like my previous video, for some reason when I rotate my iPhone video in Windows Movie Maker it removes my sound..)

I caught this right before the looting even started at the Bay. It catches from how it started to everyone rushing in and coming out. Starts around 1:45 but watch the whole thing to see if you can identify anyone. This video also shows these kids beating up a employee (I'm pretty sure I didn't confuse him for a looter) inside the Bay.

Also shows that the employees used the fire extinguisher to push people back.

Some screen shots I took from this video of people who are seen committing crimes:

Even though you don't see anything in this video, I recognized her immediately as one of the rowdiest chicks there. She was there from beginning to end. True Rioter.

i haven't watched the video in detail, but are there any clear images of these people caught in the act? unfortunately without that, these are only headshots and are not enough to convict :(
