How many books should we throw at her?

We shouldn't criminalize people like her; she obviously has a mental disorder - put her in Riverview, so she can look at all dem trees.

"Ahh..The Treesssssss"

She was from my elementary. Damn, that sucks.

I wish I had this 5D MK3 during the riots...I can pick out details in the images that I just couldn't on the 1D MK2. Would've gotten so many more rioter faces on camera.

The most classic apology ever written.

I take full responsibillity...then points out all the ways it wasn't her fault.

Thanks for the link.

Rioter pleads not guilty.
Suspected female Stanley Cup rioter pleads not guilty, trial set for next year (with video)

Quote:

Vancouver — A 22-year-old Surrey woman caught on video bashing a police cruiser with a piece of wood and then trying to light it on fire during last year’s Stanley Cup riot will go to trial next year after pleading not guilty Wednesday to three charges stemming from the night of mayhem.

A lawyer representing Alicia Price entered not guilty pleas to criminal charges of taking part in a riot, mischief to property over $5,000 and arson during a brief hearing at a Vancouver Provincial Court Wednesday. Price, who did not appear at the hearing, will have a pre-trial conference scheduled for March 12, 2013.

Amateur footage from the night of June 15, 2011, when the Vancouver Canucks lost Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final, shows Price clad in an orange T-shirt and backpack using a wooden stick to smash one of two police cruisers attacked by the angry crowd in a parking lot near the intersection of Georgia and Cambie streets. The same YouTube video, which has over 47,000 views, later shows Price lighting something on fire in the back seat of a cruiser while frenzied men and women dance and jump on the vehicle.

Price’s lawyer Kevin Westell said he would not comment on the case other than to say that despite the video evidence, his client — like any other person charged with an offence in Canada — has the right to a trial.

A photo widely distributed online from that night shows Price with long blond hair posing with an orange “Free Hugs” T-shirt in front of three riot police on Georgia Street near the live viewing site where the riot erupted. When she appeared in court last January her pulled-back hair was brown with blond highlights.

Price is one of two high-profile female riot suspects. Sophie Laboissonniere, 20, is accused of participating in a riot and looting a London Drugs store.

Months before the riot, Laboissonniere won the title of Miss Congeniality at the Miss Coastal Vancouver Pageant.

The cases of suspected rioters Jamil Sunderji, 25, of Richmond and Todd Gartland, 22, of North Vancouver were adjourned today until June. Sunderji is due in court June 14, while Gartland is scheduled to appear June 7.

Many of the riot-related cases are expected to result in guilty pleas because of the amount of video and photographic evidence gathered by citizens during the riot.

So far Crown counsel has approved 226 charges against 85 people, seven of whom have entered guilty pleas. Criminal Justice Branch spokesman Neil MacKenzie told The Sun eight suspects — seven adults and one youth — have had trial dates set for their cases.

I'm curious what they are going to argue. I'm assuming the defense would be calling the evidence into question in that there are no witnesses from that night that can identify her, only tape that came from anywhere.

Another woman charged in the riot pleads not guilty. Argh, this one pisses me off more than the first one, because she originally intended to plead guilty!

Beauty queen Sophie Laboissonniere has changed her mind.

Laboissonniere, charged with break and enter and participating in a riot charges for her part in the Stanley Cup riot, pleaded not guilty on Tuesday.

Laboissonniere, crowned Miss Congeniality at a Miss Coastal Vancouver pageant last year, said in late January that she would enter a guilty plea.

He eight-day trial is scheduled to start in April 2013.

Meanwhile, also on Tuesday, two Burnaby men pleaded guilty to their roles in last year’s riot.

Tuesday’s guilty pleas from the Burnaby men brought the total to 13 rioters who have entered guilty pleas. Vancouver police also recommended the Crown make 19 additional charges to seven people Tuesday, three of whom are considered youths.

Timothy Tin-Chew Kwong, 30, and Fernando Bernabe, 20, both of Burnaby, pleaded guilty to participating in a riot.

Bernabe had two mischief charges for damaging vehicles dropped in his guilty plea, consistent with past deals with the Crown to drop additional charges when an accused accepts the participation in a riot charge.

Kwong pleaded guilty to an additional charge of arson.

A remorseful Bernabe stood outside Vancouver Provincial Court to apologize and said he’s trying to move on.

“I’m sorry to do that to the city,” Bernabe said politely with his mother by his side. “It was an in the moment kind of thing . . . It shouldn’t have happened. I’m just trying to move on.”

And while he admits he was in the wrong, he still doesn’t remember the night.

“It’s just, I don’t remember what I did,” Bernabe started. “I was really intoxicated at the time.”

Kwong declined comment. His lawyer, Brian Mickelson, said Kwong was taking full responsibility for his charges. Kwong’s additional charge of arson was for his role in setting fire to a GMC Sierra the night of the riot. His sentencing is set for Nov. 30, 2012.

Two 17-year-olds and a 16-year-old, all from Sidney, were charged with participation in a riot and mischief.

Christopher Moewes, 24, Harkamal Bhullar, 18, Rajinder Sandhu, 23, both of Richmond, and Patrick Judge, 25, of Port Moody were also charged.

Connor Epp, 20, of Maple Ridge entered a guilty plea on Monday.

Don't these idiots realize that if they plead not guilty to the charges laid, then if they are found guilty of the crime committed, they will get a harsher sentence if they would have just pleaded guilty in the first place.

The lawyers must love it,string them along for more money even though they don't have a chance of getting off scott free.

First one sentenced(without a record). No article, it was posted on Global's FB.

Stanley Cup rioter Emmanuel Alviar has been sentenced to 1 month in jail this morning. He was lead away in handcuffs. The 20 year old has no previous criminal record. More details at noon.
Sorry, here's an article.

Stanley Cup rioter handed one-month jail sentence

1 month in jail(about 3 weeks will be served) 150 hours of community service and 16 months probation.

He also was not involved in arson. I suspect those guys will be in for more.

Energy 06-11-2012 10:46 AM

I'm glad he got a jail sentence even if it is only for a short amount of time. More important is the criminal record that guy now has.
