Can't wait to hear what Doan said to him..

I'm more impressed with how well Dustin Penner has played in the playoffs. He's playing just as good as when he was in Anaheim during their cup run.

According to yesteryear, 1 game suspension in the Stanley Cup Finals is equivalent to 8 regular season games. So I say no, Brown won't be suspended

spoon.ek9 05-22-2012 11:29 PM

he should be though, that was a blatant knee-on-knee.

trancehead 05-23-2012 12:03 AM

same here, cant wait to see what doan was saying to brown

what is all this talk about doughty's hissy fit though?

He had a hissy fit twice. First one I thought it was a correct call, but the 2nd one wasn't so he was right to be upset on that one.

pure.life 05-23-2012 12:32 AM

Milbury and JR at it again

Bouncing Bettys 05-23-2012 01:28 AM

I feel for all 3 fans in Phoenix as I have seen it all before

damn Kings do it again, in the Western Conference Final no less.

Alfie is booed to this day for that. At least the Leafs won that series in the end.

DanHibiki 05-23-2012 01:46 AM

It's funny how this happens so often. a controversial play that leads to a goal by the guilty party.

In the end, the fault lies mainly in the refs as they missed the call.

SkinnyPupp 05-23-2012 02:44 AM

Missed what call? It was incidental contact. Roenick is right

jack3d 05-23-2012 06:07 AM

weirdest thing to see. shaking hands while yapping at eachother..:fulloffuck:

fsy82 05-23-2012 08:34 AM

He was leading with his knee out. You could clearly here the whistle go and he had a chance to avoid that hit. But he didn't. I guarantee there will be retaliation next year on Brown. Too many dirty hits by Brown in these playoffs. What goes around comes around.

Gumby 05-23-2012 08:42 AM

And yet another road win for the Kings... CRAZY!

To me, after watching the replay of the ensuing play, it seems like the Coyote player was too busy throwing a hit and missed the moving puck. Bad defense lead to the shot on goal which Smith can't hold on to the rebound and Mr. Pancake cleans up the garbage to win it.

Dirty hits always happen. But what's more important? Kill the dirty player or play D to not lose the game?

EuterVanWasser 05-23-2012 09:32 AM

Pretty much seemed all LA for the final 35 minutes of the game. I'm not surprised the Kings won, only that it took them so long to score.

I think Brown's hit was dirty. He had him lined up in the rail road tracks, and lead with his knee. I don't think it's a hit that will garner a suspension, just that it's one of those borderline hits that's meant to injure a player, not just separate him from the puck.

Put Torres' name bar on the back of Brown's jersey and Shanny would throw 15 games at him though :)

rsx 05-23-2012 09:57 AM

No fucking way that deserves a suspension. You can't fault Brownie on that one, blame the refs if anything.

Looked to me like he was leaning with his upper body and forearm extended to the chest of Rosz for a hit, but instead clipped the inner thigh of Rosz.

I respectfully disagree.

Yeah, maybe. But you don't give him a pass because of what he was trying to do, you penalize him because of what he DID do.

JR says he was turning and didn't have time to avoid the hit. Questionable. But it was Brown's choice to stick his leg out and turn that way to make the contact, he needs to be accountable for that action when Roszival had no chance to avoid that contact. It was Brown's fault that he didn't turn far enough for a full on body-body hit, or maybe Brown realized he'd have a higher chance of hurting himself throwing a hit like that.

Rome got 4 SCF games with his questionable late hit, but it was a clean hit otherwise. If Brown was some no name bum, he'd get the same treatment. I bet Shanny turns the other cheek.
