@NHL_Oilers: Hordichuk: "Hopefully #Vancouver is getting a tough guy, because I'm coming after them. #Calgary, too. It's payback time."

jp dumont would be a terrible signing regardless.

He is risky, but his salary would be around the same as Sturm. I'd rather have a natural RW at this point. Dumont played on a very defensive team too, so his numbers are skewed and he is a better passer than Sturm. Feel free to put your numbers in too, I don't mind hockey debates.

I didn't want to see Torres leave =[

I met him @ UFC 131. Really nice & well spoken guy. I asked him where he was thinking of signing and he joked about how he might sign with the enemy :lol

krazynuck 07-01-2011 12:37 PM

well only signed sturm to keep the German quota up ;)

Gh0stRider 07-01-2011 12:37 PM

RT @CanucksEdge: I'm wondering if the #Canucks are going to find some decent wingers for Kesler.I don't think Sturm is the answer.

cliffhanger33 07-01-2011 12:48 PM

samuelsson and sturm are like the same players..........................................

Gh0stRider 07-01-2011 12:53 PM

@News1130Sports Confirmed players Gillis called today. Joel Ward, Sean Berginhiem, Anythony Stewart and Rick Rypien. Got Marco Sturm.

He did while playing along side Savard in Boston though. Not saying he won't hit that kind of numbers again, but Savard is a much more creative playmaker than Kesler.

He scored 28 goals with the sharks in 03, before they had Thornton

Holy shit. Florida gets Fleischmann. BAD contract, but that's not a surprise.

TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
FLA signs Tomas Fleischmann for four years, $18M.

Tough market so many players getting overpaid

Alatar 07-01-2011 01:10 PM

4.5/yr for Fleischmann was definitely too much. If that's what he was gunning for... I'm glad the Canucks didn't sign him.

murd0c 07-01-2011 01:11 PM

Florida needs to speed money so I don't think they really care right now.

fliptuner 07-01-2011 01:12 PM

Yup, it's great that Gillis isn't getting caught up in overpaying for some of these guys but we still need someone solid to paly with Kes.

I also think 1.75 was totally reasonable for Torres, which we should've paid. If we wanted more grit, resigning him was a step in the right direction.

Gh0stRider 07-01-2011 01:15 PM

Rypien close to signing. Nucks in the mix, but not the leader.

Not really racist! 07-01-2011 01:23 PM

Florida just likes to spend their money... wow
