LAKings
#LAKings reach verbal agreement with left wing Simon Gagne on two-year contract. More details to come.

Honestly, it's a win win situation for us in signing Sturm. If he plays to the way he was before, and he clicks with Kesler or any other players. We gain. If he sucked and skated slower than Marc Choinard, then we'll just waive his ass and have Aquilini pay for his salary to play for the Wolves.

Plus, I don't know what's the fuss with losing Torres? Whether the Canucks were pushed around or not, Torres didn't do anything to push back. He doesn't even kill penalties.

I'm probably glad that we lost players like Glass and Torres because our bottom six needs more of players who can actually play more offensive and can allow us to skate end to end.

Simon Gagne is an LA KIng. 2 Years at 3.5 million a year on the cap.

krazynuck 07-02-2011 12:08 PM

thats a decent price for him...id rather have paid the extra million and got gagne over sturm....assuming this is a perfect world and the scenario was even possible

I see Bolduc followed Torres and joined Phoenix

and anthony Stewart went for cheap

Chronix 07-02-2011 12:24 PM

We shkouldve signed Steve Sullivan bros

@GMillerTSN
Gord Miller
Have to think the NJ Devils will be wondering how the Richards contract gets approved when Kovalchuk's got bounced and cost them draft picks

@GMillerTSN
Gord Miller
With a $10m SB in the first year (plus $2m in salary) and an $8m SB in the second year, Richards will receive $20m in the next 12 months.

@GMillerTSN
Gord Miller
Richards year by year: $12m, $12m, $9m, $8.5m, $8.5m, $7m, $1m, $1m, $1m. $10m SB+$2m the salary first year, $8m SB + $4m salary the second

just wow...

LOLOL is Richards really worth paying 12 mill a year?
20 mill in the next 12 months? huge overpayment, NHL is becoming a joke. I foresee another lockout

Wings sign D Ian White to 2-year, $5.75m contract

The Washington Capitals have signed goaltender Tomas Vokoun to a one-year, $1.5-million

b0unce. [?] 07-02-2011 01:55 PM

i hope it's not true about rypien. i was hoping to see him in the line up to possibly replace glass.

dbaz 07-02-2011 02:21 PM

vokoun to washington.. 1.5mil. Guess not many people were interested so he took a cheap deal to go for a cup.

murd0c 07-02-2011 02:26 PM

spoon.ek9 07-02-2011 02:37 PM

I think thats a good call for him. After everything hes gone through he needs a change of scenery especially since True North knows everything he's been going through.

spideyv2 07-02-2011 05:20 PM

anyone ever find out what was going on with Rypien when he took all those personal leaves?

invader 07-02-2011 05:38 PM

all teams are getting tougher except the canucks

shawn79 07-02-2011 05:47 PM

canucks were 1 win away from winning the cup, they dont need much adjustment although this team does seem much more weaker without
torres and eherhoff already...

u mad?

Rumor was he was suicidal and suffers from depression. Those are rumors though so take it for what it's worth.
