On the other hand, we don't want some badass who will be in the box all day long.

Just look at what happened to SOB :lol

The guy does play with a lot of emotions, he makes dirty runs, but dam he's a friken monster on ice.

jackmeister 02-27-2012 08:00 PM

sorry to break the trade chat, but we could've used chris neil:

Ronin 02-27-2012 08:01 PM

HAHAHAHAH that is just about the most illegal hit ever. He basically jumps sideways into the guy's face. It's almost comically illegal...LOL.

EDIT: talking about Kassian's hit.

Ronin 02-27-2012 08:02 PM

Cody... :tears:

Dammit. I honestly thought he'd be here longer somehow. I thought if somehow Pittsburgh has Jordan Staal on the third line, we could keep Hodgson there too.

Don't really know what to make of the Hodgson trade.

It appears we lost our third line offense, something so vital in the playoffs (depth scoring). For whatever reason, if the first two lines dry up, you look to the third line to chip in where they can. Maybe a more tough and gritty third line chips in more in the playoffs because their crash and bang style lends to it. I just don't know.

Thing with trading a 21 year old for a 22 year old, is we may not know who won the trade for some years. Depending on what the Canucks do this season, we may find out earlier.

Staal isn't on the 3rd line; he's on the 2nd line. Crosby is irrelevant at this point. I'm sure if Kesler or Henrik had a possible career-ending injury that had kept them out for almost 2 seasons that we would still be holding onto Hodgeson too.

PiuYi 02-27-2012 08:46 PM

hoping kassian is more milan lucic than ben eager... :heckno:

but srsly, i think much of the canucks success is due to them being dangerous offensively throughout 3 or 4 lines, even when top 2 aren't producing, we're still able to score goals and pull out wins... but now i think there is increased pressure on top 2 lines to score consistently

n3w8ie-aler 02-27-2012 08:58 PM

i hope hes not another Torres.
It least Cody can play with Ehroff

scott howson is such a fucking tool. calling out nash like that was a faggot move. the press conference is worth watching the whole way thru.

aaron ward said it best in response:

agreed it was a bitch move.

subordinate 02-27-2012 09:20 PM

:seriously:

We already knew Rick Nash had requested a trade prior to Scott saying it at the press conference.

It seems nothing but Canadian News making a big deal out of nothing.

spideyv2 02-27-2012 09:27 PM

Columbus is lucky Nash hasnt demanded a trade from their shitty ass franchise. That place is a prospect graveyard.

it was definitely known but there's no need to for that.

also nash ultimately had the ball in his court. he couldve denied going to X team when it couldve been a big return for the CBJ franchise

Alatar 02-27-2012 09:32 PM

Hodgson doesn't sound upset for someone who just got traded away from a cup contender.

Considering Nash has played for a shit franchise for almost 10 years, I highly doubt he'd be willing to go to ANOTHER shit franchise. Hence the NTC.

Shit franchises usually overpay for players like Nash, which would get a big return for CBJ. But since Nash has a specific list, the most CBJ will get is a Kovalchuk/Brad Richards/Mike Richards etc return.

Agreed. It's no coincidence he gets traded to Buffalo, which is nearby where his brother goes to College and his family lives...

Oh well, I wish Cody the best of luck.

Vancouver got what we have been lacking, an enforcer who takes on anyone and stands up for everyone.

CoHo was a great player, but we didnt have a perfect spot for him being a center. I wish him the best of luck in Buffalo. He will be one to watch over the years.

cliffhanger33 02-27-2012 10:03 PM

Guess we gotta take down the CoHo posters on the Canada line stations now :okay:
