I understand the logic of CoHo moving for a big body.. He's not a great fit for a 3rd line center on a cup contending team and certainly is never going to bump Hank or Kes on lines #1 and #2.

I simply disagree with moving him for a guy who's really unproven at the NHL level.. CoHo in my opinion has proven this year he can produce.. and he's getting limited minutes, and limited support. CoHo's hockey IQ is impressive, the way he finds soft ice and reads plays, and his shot is developing to be top shelf.

Personally, I think Buffalo got the better hockey deal here, whereas we've picked up a player to plug a hole for the time being.

irony there is Kassian could turn out to be the Neely in this deal. MG isn't the type of guy to get hosed on a deal like this.

So far the city seems too emotionally tied into Coho. He's a great young player with great upside, but you need to look at his fit on this team and what the team needs right now.

Did I hear correctly during TSN's call to Cody..that Cody heard he was traded from his teammate Tanev?

Surprised that happened. Business is business I guess.

I'm happy he had least went to the Sabres, I don't mind them what so ever and if he does pan out he won't really effect us in the long run.

I am not against fair trades but I value 7seven accessment since he follows the sabres.

And CoHo is going to strap on the pads when Luongo wets the bed in game 7? Give me a break and get of Hodgson's jock.

I value 7seven's familiarity with the Sabres. But I put more faith and trust in MG and the pro scouts the Canucks employ over 7seven, no offense intended whatsoever

The team is already as soft-handed as it can get.

This is Kassian's first NHL season and he is only 21. He will learn a lot playing in AV's system with our finesse players while still providing something that every hockey team needs: toughness. At 6'4" 220lbs+ you'll all be glad we have him on the ice next time a douchebag like Marchand dummies one of the Sedins in the playoffs and a ref doesn't make the call. Hodgson will be a great player, he's just not what the Canucks need right now.
What will this guy do for us in the playoffs? Hodgson will help in scoring in case the others are shutdown or injured. I rather our guys take a punch in the face and win.

Did Seguin win the cup for Boston last year, when Horton was injured?

No, that was just a reply to his reply. Haha.

So you think Kassian is ready to step right up?

calmer now. If Cody was Linden 2.0, then hopefully they just traded him for Bertuzzi 2.0

Kassian became expendable in Buffalo with the development of Marcus Foligno. I can understand why the Canucks made this trade with Kesler and Henrik locked in for the next few years, but Kassian I don't believe at this time is ready to contribute in a large fashion at this stage of his career, other than as an enforcer, right now he's a 4th liner, surely there must've been another grit/enforcer option that wouldn't have cost Hodgson.

Personally I was expecting key contributions from Hodgson this playoffs and figured the offensive center depth would've been more valuable to Canucks given what happened to Kesler last playoffs with injuries. I would not feel comfortable with Phalson or Manny filling in for Kesler or Henrik. The acquisition of Kassian also tells me the Canucks aren't too comfortable with Bitz' health going forward.

If Gillis can get Kassian's head screwed on straight, at best he becomes Lucic, at worst another Bitz type but I figure he'll more likely settle into a Chris Gratton type.

Do you think Canucks have enough offense? What if the top line hits a dry spell and second line is injured, who would pot a timely goal? Still worries me, that's where I felt Hodgson would get a goal here and there.. But toughness is good, exactly what they needed. Going to miss the part where they interview excited young humble players after exciting games, ie) Hodgson on every interview.

How'd that work out for us last year? The Canucks were an all finesse team that got bullied by the Bruins and screwed by Brendan Shanahan. Gillis isn't going to let that happen again.

Hockey is not always about scoring goals.
