ToddPacker 07-25-2012 04:54 PM

NOVA has been great imo (jb 4.1.1 on Gnex)

an app you guys have to try (if you haven't already) is MINT.

Sadly I think that is the server for you. If you have a more expensive shaw internet plan it would be here.

Simple. Click the tools button on the bottom and change server.

Need a good app android tablet app to take notes for lecture. Drawing diagram and writing and possible lecture record if possible.

Also anyone have tablet apps must have list ?

Soundy 08-03-2012 10:01 PM

Evernote.

3klipze 08-03-2012 10:18 PM

Ever note does not have the drawing capabilities I need. Would like to switch between keyboard and drawing diagram with a stylus

Soundy 08-03-2012 11:18 PM

Evernote + Skitch then (forgot I have Skitch installed as well - lets me draw/highlight/edit graphics in a Note).

Simplex123 08-03-2012 11:38 PM

I think you can find the supernote apk from the transformer online.

Where can I find some decent themes for Nexus S?

Continuing the launcher talk up above...
Apex launched a new beta with JB features for both ICS/JB so it might actually turn out as the best launcher again!

Quote:

A new beta version of Apex Launcher for Android brings many features from Jelly Bean to Ice Cream Sandwich devices. The new code, based on the official launcher from the Android Open Source Project, allows users to displace icons and widgets by moving them atop one another, as well as remove icons from the screen by “flinging” them off the map.

All told, the features put the launcher ahead of Nova, which is its biggest challenger in the Android 4.0+ game. I also noticed that, perhaps due to “Project Butter” enhancements, scrolling through various home screens is slightly smoother than Nova.
A full changelog is below:

- When placing widgets on the screen, everything else automatically moves to make room
- When they are too big, widgets resize on their own to fit on the homescreen
- Quickly remove apps/widgets by flinging them to the edge of the homescreen
- Major performance boost for homescreen and drawer
- New app enter/exit animations (JB only)
- Switched to phone layout on 7″ tablets (e.g., Nexus 7)
- Added background for widgets in the drawer
- Fixed icon ordering bug within folders

I tried installing it over my current Apex Launcher, and I got a signature error.

hongy 08-07-2012 07:45 PM

Try installing through apex launcher itself? That's what I did and it worked out fine.

Did you buy it? If it's a downloaded version you may need to uninstall the old and then install the new one.

Simplex123 08-08-2012 11:19 PM

Someone was asking for some must have apps in the S3 thread.
Here are some that I always have on my phone:
Dropbox
ES File Explorer
Facebook
Instagram
Pick - It's like Instagram, but for Asians. Mostly used to check out asian sluts
Chrome
Apex Launcher
CTV Olympics
Flipboard
Swiftkey - for regular typing
Play Music - after you enable your gmail account you can sync all your music to the cloud and stream it
QuickPic
Skype
TuneIn Radio
Volume+ - to boost the volume of speaker/headphones

Chinese apps:
Multiling Keyboard - for typing/writing Chinese
Sharp Daily/Apple Daily for random HK news
Kugou - to stream songs of all kinds with the ability to download from the app

dasani604 08-09-2012 08:50 AM

You should add WeChat into that mix. It used to be called WeiXin.

Similar kind of app to Whatsapp/Google Talk/KakaoTalk, but I find it much more flexible with what you can do. Unlike Whatsapp, voice messages are sent more fluidly (you don't have to download the thing, choose which app you want to play the sound, and have clogs of sound files on your InternalSD). Give it a test - cross platform with iOS as well.

sonick 08-09-2012 09:28 AM

Nova just launched a beta with JB features too

Tim Budong 08-09-2012 09:32 AM

I personally enjoy Solid Explorer Beta. Looks a lot better than es file explorer

gdoh 08-09-2012 09:34 AM
