Save yourself the money and effort.

despicable me minion | eBay

If you want to go about it sneakily, just go hide in your backpack and pull it out once you're there. I understand that it isn't winning it infront of them but with the prices of the game being so ridiculous, it's hard to justify playing a game to POTENTIALLY win (chances are against you unless you're playing a no risk-small reward type game).

Gh0stRider 08-30-2011 05:09 PM

the minions are at the jump shot game and whack a mole.

For the jumpshot game, if you buy $10 (4 shots, I think) you're guaranteed a small one. In fact, even if you hit all your shots, you still only get a small one.
:fulloffuck:

And I won a jumbo toy from whack a mole. $5 a game, but I had to pay for my little brother's game too. $10 for a jumbo toy, not bad, not bad. There was only Southpark toys, so I traded it at another stand where they had minions. They guy there was pretty stupid; they didn't have the jumbo south park but still traded me for 3 medium/large minions. His co worker was like "Dude we don't have those!" but I was gone!

Gh0stRider 08-30-2011 05:23 PM

ya the carnies are stupid

fliptuner 08-30-2011 05:38 PM

Buddy brought me 3 packs of 15 minute old mini donuts. Now I don't even have to go this year...wooot!!!

did they have the big ones at the very least like a large sized? I'm thinking worst case scenario I just buy out the whole game of whackamole if the prize isn't tiny lol, thanks for info though.

I heard that admission is cheaper after certain time. Can anyone confirm that and if so, what time?

The Rules:
No jumping/diving
no climbing upside down
no lying down

So did anyone of you guys play this and beat it??

I just came back from Playland... but didn't try it...
I was watching so many people fail, because they didn't realize that it's pretty much impossible to do with the staff holding the bottom for you.
Then it almost angered me as I watched the staff show-off how easy it is to do as he demonstrated over and over again
(obviously without anyone holding the bottom). I noticed they also mount on from the side, where their hands are already half way up the ladder.
Unlike how most people mount on from the bottom, and try to crawl up.

I was really tempted to try, and show people how it's done (while exploiting their trick) by telling the staff to not hold on the bottom for me...
but I was too worried that I would still fall off regardless due to inexperience, then making me seem like an arrogant fool...

I'm sure it would still take me at least a few climbs without the staff holding on before I get the hang of it.

It's one of those things that with a little practice, your body will learn how to balance... but extremely difficult going in cold turkey never having done it before.

Once you get it, it'll be a piece of cake. That's why the game sign says limit one win per person per year.

How would they know if the staff is on rotation?

Or just simply all the faces they see.

record winner information and verify with identification

Gumby 09-04-2011 11:02 PM

Watch some Youtube videos too - you'll notice that you have to move the (left leg + right arm) or (right leg + left arm) to remain balanced.

i was there last weekend with the gf and won a jumbo size kenny and jumbo size cartman! It was from the whack-a-mole game. You need all 10 people to play in order to win the jumbo prizes.

Another easy game is the one with the soccer ball where you knock off 4 tin cans and the bottle one mentioned above is good too. Everything else is rigged.

I left the PNE around 9pm last night. Left through the Hastings Race Horse entrance (at the NW parking) and I didn't see anyone checking for tickets. I wasn't paying too much attention but they might not have been checking parking then either. The Led Zeppelin tribute band was good, so if you feel like a free rock show you could probably catch at least an hour of it.

HonestTea 09-05-2011 11:56 AM

I left around 9pm on Saturday and their was a shitload of people buying tickets for late-night entrance lol (Hastings entrance where the log ride is)

TheSalesman 09-05-2011 08:29 PM

Won a big domo on Friday. This was at the game where you try to toss 2 balls into the bucket without bouncing out. First try, I got 3 balls in a row because he said it was a rebound shot when I bounced it off the rim to keep it in.
I played it again later and for some reason, the balls felt different. And I missed all 3 shots.

yeah, I think the problem with the staff not holding the bottom
would mean you would fall off just trying to mount on, until you get enough practice.

But having the staff holding on at first, then letting go mid way,
means it's near impossible to win the game.

On Youtube, all the videos of the winners don't have any staff holding on at the bottom.
But those ladder games are designed a bit differently. Where the bottom is on the "ground"
so it's stable until you climb further up.
