I don't think so. although he was already a hippy, which probably led to the lsd use, his perspective on a lot of things probably changed (either affirmation, or pulling in a shit load of other theories).
if you look back at these histories, it's often a few major decisions determined the success of these types of companies, sometimes even just one decision.
steve jobs is a very right brained, big picture visionary type guy, but he still makes a lot of small mistakes...
an example is, the apple II. although steve jobs heavily was against expansion cards on the apple II, wozniak pushed for it and anyone that had an apple II knows how heavily it depended on those expansion cards. the computer probably wouldnt of done so well without that feature.
bill gates was a much more conservative and uptight guy in terms of thinking compared to steve jobs. the two products are very different but both successful... bill gates is a dude that extrapolates in a very linear fashon, very opposite of jobs.
Even steve jobs says LSD was one of the top 3 most important things he's done in his entire life... that's a powerful statement.
you must understand, lsd isnt like cocaine, alcohol, or whatever other bullshit drug that just temporarily blows your ego up and makes you feel good about yourself or some bullshit like that. it's a powerful psychedelic drug that alters your state of consciousness... probably for the rest of your life. it's powerful enough that a lot of people convert to buddhism after doing it. you don't see people converting their fundamental values and beliefs after doing some party drug. it really makes you step back and look at the world from a very different perspective, perhaps a more true and realistic perspective than you ever can without the drug.
I just think a lot of people when they think of LSD, they just think of that 70's show, where they have the intermissions between scenes of the jumping in the air and posing with crazy colors going on in the backgrounds, when in fact the colors and shit like that arent even close to that, and arent even the "main attraction" of the trip.
actually i duno where i'm going with this... lol i just don't ppl to have the whole "omg lsd, it's a drug, drugs are bad, especially lsd, i heard its crazy." argument to cloud their thoughts on this subject.
bah, you can't say it didn't do anything. drugs change people, a lot, even the low down escapist narcotics can change a person dramatically. how can you say one of the most powerful psychedelics known to man had little to no effect on the outcome of his life and all the decisions he's ever made?
