In a sign of changing times, many of the American coffee chain locations here (Starbucks, Pacific Coffee) are being replaced by Chinese brands. But they sell it for Starbucks prices here, so there's not much point. Looks like America is losing its corporate grip in Asia, the most powerful way they could influence culture around the world, after entertainment went to shit in the past decade. |
This is a redundant question given that it's like Starbucks, but is their coffee any good? Unrelated question: Any auditors here on the forum? I have a question for a non-profit organization. Thanks! :) |

My cousins in HK like Manner and Pacific Coffee over Luckin. I guess I'll have to see for myself when I get there. They also have Tim Hortons in China so I'll have to try that and compare it with the shit Timmies we have here. When I had Tim Hortons in Thailand the quality seemed to be much better than ones here. |

There's also a Cottee Coffee (spelling???) here nearby where we live and one Downtown Toronto. They have a coconut milk coffee/latte drink and it's not bad for the price, assuming you have their app-based coupons. Quote:
I'm curious if Tim Horton's coffee overseas tastes different. My assumption is that it should not, but rather, they may modify their flavours and taste preference to meet local palates. |
Cotti Coffee has opened a new location in Richmond. I've seen some videos about Luckin opening locations in the US. Haven't seen any plans for them to open anything here in Canada (yet). Seems like their business model includes spamming coupons via their apps to undercut the competition. |

Cotti in Lougheed as well. Their coconut latte thing is pretty decent. Especially cheap with the app coupons. |
i think 1st purchase is like $1 via app. i guess that's cost of acquisition or to get ppl to d/l the app. queue was too big for me to try but my friend said it's like starbucks quality coffee that is normally starbucks prices. so without the heavy discount not sure i'd be using them. |

This is very interesting. |
Can you give us the basic premise? The title alone isn't enticing me to click play |
Lab grown diamonds increasing in popularity. But pricing is all over the map. Blue Nile sold a lab grown diamond for $2k or something. Alibaba sold essentially the same diamond for $200. Independent appraisers and certified people looked at both diamonds and said they were near identical in quality. The certificates that came with both were legit. |
