Duty estimate calculator says a number, but I know those are never accurate.

Other option is ship to point Roberts, but then I gotta go down with someone that has a truck, and again, might get hit crossing back
You don't really get duties on things like that, just GST and PST and possibly brokerage unless you clear customs yourself which is doable just takes some hoop jumping at the airport and with the courier company.

PR is the best option, if it's just wheels alone its not too bad? Even a sedan can handle that no problem. Depending when it was I'd help you out, pick them up for you... I go down there quite often.

If anyone doesn't believe in Climate change, just show them these pictures. These are of the favourite lake we've been going to for camping for a dozen years now.

These two pictures are around the same mid-august time frame.

Survived the storm pretty well. Some windows leaked, and our rooftop drains got clogged so the roof was basically a swimming pool. Thankfully that was recently repaired, so recently tested to be water tight. As soon as it stopped raining I got up there and cleared the drains, and it was dry this morning.

This storm didn't hit my place as hard this time, because the wind during the peak was coming from the north and northeast. By the time it rotated to the south, where it would have smashed into our front balcony head on like last time, the winds were starting to die down.

So I got lucky! It was still scary as hell though, just waiting to find out whether a catastrophe would happen. Especially after going through all that with my cat recently, I am a bit on edge lately. It was a similar feeling, just waiting for the next bad news.

Thanks for the well wishes! Maybe it helped

Last night's storm on the left, 2018 storm on the right. Mangkhut was slightly less intense but WAY bigger and more devastating (and again, we got nailed by southerly winds). Damn storm was bigger than China!

I wish I'd seen this comparison before last night, it would have been somewhat reassuring

Carmody said the stall dimensions on the building’s plan are 2.61 by 5.59 metres. The parking stalls vary in size across the plan, with the narrowest being 2.44 metres.

Hawes and Kong said their stall is just under 2.42 metres at its widest point. “The strata say it accepts this, although it submitted a measurement of 2.47 metres,” Carmody said.”

“I therefore find 2.47 metres is the accurate measurement. I find the stall is 14 centimetres narrower than indicated on the strata plan.”
Cars keep getting wider and wider but parking spots keep staying the same size (or even get smaller). 2.47m is 97" (8'1"). Excluding mirrors a CR-V is 73" leaving 12" each side (plus whatever is available in the spots next to it) to get out. Make it a Rivian R1T and you're at 81" wide with 7" each side to get out. Good luck with that.

Not sure going to EVs is going to change this either - this is about people getting bigger and safety regs getting tougher and tougher to meet. Feels like parking spots need to be sized up sooner or later.

What we don't know is if they tried to stuff a SUV into a "Small Car" spot. It really boils down to the fact that most buyers have a preference for larger vehicles. It doesn't help that we have the North American mentality of bigger is better. Our friends in Asian and Europe do just fine with smaller cars such as the X1, Mini Cooper, etc..

If my tire size is originally 235/60/R18, but I want to go down a wheel and tire size to 17", will my tire now by 235/60/R17?

Is that how it works?
