Skipped GTA4 completely, but this game looks pretty good on PC... bought it on Steam, but gonna download the "other" version as well so I can hit the mods heavy when they come out, since I'm pretty sure Steam will ban you if your game is modded...
and Ruski hackers already cracked the files today which is nuts.... already a few minor mods are out, but all the big mods should be getting put out very soon.... real cars, physics mods...etc...etc.... gonna wait until then before I really dig into the game...
Also if you guys have a PS4 controller laying around you can use it in the game with a neat feature if you download InputMapper. I have mine connected via bluetooth and basically the trackpad area turns into a mouse pad where your finger can be the mouse....
So if you're one of those guys like me who can't aim for shit with analog sticks and grew up pew pew'ing with a mouse on a fckin PC, this is a happy medium where you can aim using the trackpad instead of the right analog stick, much smoother and more precise to guys like us than ending up shooting the sky every time you try to aim with the right analog lol
Although they have everything in the game, I just wish I was able to play basketball on the courts, and also hit up Venice beach gym and get buff and pack on muscle, I don't see why not when they had it in the original San Andreas game, remember hitting the weights with CJ all the time, lol...
Also third person movement feels really sloppy unresponsive though, half the time in tight areas I'm hitting things when I'm really trying to go around, hopefully a mod can tighten up the controls a bit

Maybe time for new videocard? The CPU and videocard are barely above minimum requirements and nowhere near to recommended (which usually means mid-level settings anyways).(
Bought an r9 290 over the weekend, but burnt out 2 sticks of ram so back down to 8gb
Vansterdam what I mean by "other version" I mean a pirated one. I have a legit copy on Steam (pre-ordered it) but the reason I need the "other" version is because I want to play the game with a bunch of mods, and I don't want to risk banning my GTA account online on Steam in case I want to play it online.
I have been putting off playing the game because they're about to release a bunch of mods. All I really want is real cars and physics, weapons, sounds, maybe some texture mods etc... that's what I need to make the game perfectly enjoyable for me in single player.
And Ghostrider the game is actually really well optimized, I'm pretty sure you can even play it on a Laptop if you turn some settings down. There are some settings that still aren't well optimized though, like the advanced graphic stuff. I do have the basic graphic settings maxed out, but even though my PC should be good enough to max the game out fully at 1440p I still have to keep advanced graphics turned off to maintain a constant v-synced 60fps. It seems these types of games always have issues when you jump in a car and drive around fast.
Also I almost forgot, something pretty important I accidentally realized while messing around the settings, is when you V-sync to Half, basically cap it at 30fps, it is literally console smooth this is the first game I've ever seen have a console smooth 30fps. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, basically there has always been a very noticeable difference in 30fps on PC compared to 30fps on Console, the consoles have always made it feel a lot smoother than it really is. Never before has there been a PC game I found to be playable at 30fps for me, maybe because it's mostly fast paced sports games I play on PC, but honestly GTA 5 would be the first, they really went balls deep in PC optimization for this game, they were right to delay it after all.
And those advanced graphic settings I spoke of, I don't really even notice a difference unless I look really close and far away, it's mostly just distance detail sliders. Here's a popular video just got put out that shows the various graphic effects so you can see what you're missing when you turn down some of these
