What level do I need to be for match play? I am only lvl 5 and played 20 games so far. It takes forever to get a game going.

Also How do I check my stats: GPM, XPM, K/D/A etc

Been going up and down 33xx also.

I agree that I either stomp on others or getting stomped.
It mostly has to do with hero picks. Sometime people just doesn't know who to pick.. I've been having 0-9 carries in my team while I have to support them. It's just impossible. Captain's mode even worst. Some captains just have awful picks for laning.

But there are of course games that are good. I guess that's why it keeps staying at that level and that match making works. It will always want to give you a 50% win rate.

The only site tracking your wins/losses/matches is Dotabuff.com but they don't have GPM XPM KDA which is a total drag.... :(

funny how we kept stomping other teams within 20 minutes in a game LOL but to lose as "favourites" when entering the tourney. Wish we had a better support, we had one guy who didn't know how to play dota 1 properly and played cm every game hahaha. Good ole dota 1 memories.
