Getting around in the snow is absolutely not an issue, provided you have snow tires. I've taken trips up to Whistler through heavy snowfall at least 3 times now and never had any problems. I've even driven 6 hours and back between Toronto and Ottawa through a blizzard and never had an issue (aside from the douchebags in their Audis and 4x4 trucks gunning it by me on the shoulder, only to end up in the ditch 15 minutes later).

Revs on the highway gets a little annoying but as long as you have a relatively quiet exhaust (or stock) it's pretty bearable. Roughly 4000rpm at 115kph in 6th on my AP1. Someone feel free to correct me on that.

It's the lack of back seats and the tiny trunk that really gets to me. It's a huge sacrifice if you don't have another car. Especially if a lot of your other friends don't have a car. It really gets in the way. More often than before, you'll have to call in favors to move anything anywhere, and most of the time you won't be driving when you go out with your coworkers or friends. You'll be "that douche with the 2 seater". I've had to get pretty creative with hauling stuff around, too many times involving popping the top open and holding stuff over my head with one hand, on a highway

Anyway despite these sacrifices it's an amazing car to drive that makes it all worth it. It's a really engaging experience and I guarantee that if you like the idea of working a gearbox for some crazy 9000rpm action, and tearing through corners on a spirited drive*, you'll like this car.

*at the TRACK! drive safe.
Hey, you're supposed to say 8k rpm

get the S2000, you have the rest of your life to drive a boring practical 4 dr sedan. When you have kids and get a minivan, you'll be thinking, I shoulda bought the S2000 when I had the chance!

Haha it's impossible. Top down is a whole other story though, if you're into that kinda thing.

Get the s, honestly it's one of those high school dreams that was never realized cuz of budget issues. To me at least it's like a miata with 9k revs (ap1)

Just from my friends I know people who had traded in their 350z, and or seriously considered trading in their evo x for the s, I think that speaks volumes of what a s2k does to a drivers soul.

if driving enjoyment and feel are your top priorties Vs all out speed, you will not find a better car than the S2000 for $20-$40K.

Just wait 10yrs, people will praise the S2000 like they praise the AE86 today.

I thought of the same things before i bought mine a few years ago- ap1.

Wanted to have the option to drive a 3rd/4th person
wanted more trunk room to haul things.

Took me awhile to decide on picking it up from those 2 things alone.
But when i did, i loved the way it felt on the road.
Low to the ground, fits like a glove, top down most of the time, 9k rpm, and VEEETAK!

When i had it, those 2 issues i was considering prior to getting the car, i never really thought much more of it.
Most my friends have their own cars. Everyone in my family practically drives and has their own car. Rarely did i have to haul anything too big like a mattress.
Heck, i was able to fit my hockey bag in the trunk and stick in the passenger seat.

I have an sti now and let me tell u, there are days where i miss the S.
Having 4 doors, turbo, bigger trunk and awd isnt doesnt feel as good as driving the S

The S is purely a drivers car.
