Best food in Richmond

I'm a little embarrassed to say this but I don't know that many food places in Richmond that are very good. It seems as if every place I've been to is pretty average and nothing that is great.

So please share with me (and the rest of RS) your favourite food joints in Richmond and why!

Kisamo's Taverna - greek restaurant

great atmosphere, although it may get crowded and you have to wait to get seated after 7pm

+1 roast lamb dinner :sweetjesus:

awesome restaurant and good prices.

I also like Bob's Sub

Big portions and practical prices.

The meat/bread ratio for their sandwiches is like 3/1

akalic 12-30-2011 09:01 PM

charcoal
tandoori kona
chop/brown's/L.A. grill

i think they decreased the size of their sandwiches. had a 6' supersub last time and it was about 3/4ths the size of the old one

Meowjin 12-30-2011 11:45 PM

matsuyama is trash. late night go Koto. It's 100402043032040342342 times better.

You shitting? Tropika, Matsuyama, Silver tower and Norhtern Dynasty? What the fuck has this food thread gone to....:heckno:

unit 12-31-2011 12:29 AM

matsuyama is indeed pretty bad.
went there for late night, it was on par with the viet sushi joints (beef tataki was good thats it)

try kiriri sushi or master hungs (chinese bbq) both at blundell and garden, tandoori kona at 5 and cambie, or one of the billion other canto joints that will be mentioned all over this thread.

either are pretty bad choices unless ur poor. the rolls and nigiri are so sloppily made its shameful. id rather eat something else if those are ur choices. but yeah agree, sushi hachi, kiriri and seto are gems if u have the money.

Tropika??? Really????

Sky_High 12-31-2011 12:48 AM

^ same for a lot of the Taiwanese ones listed there. They are just average and "meh"

No where near "best food" in Richmond...

MelonBoy 12-31-2011 03:10 AM

matsuyama - WORST place ever don't go.. rahter eat mcds.

- Top Shanghai is pretty solid..
- Neptune Seafood for Dimsum (go before 10, its like half price or something) place is pretty expensive when its not half price lol.. fair warning
- HK BBQ Master
- Chicken Wings from uhh something Dessert in Aberdeen I think 2 stalls from to the right of Vera's Burger...
- Bubble Fruity the place is similar to Hui Lau Shan (HK) but not quite the same.. still pretty good.
- Deer Garden is pretty good noodle house.. the side chicken wings hit the spot and there lemon ice tea is super sweet.. as sweet if not sweeter then Vita lemon ice tea.

Whats wrong with silver tower or koto late night? They are actually not that bad.

Ever tried amiga? I love their spiced tomato macau chicken.

I like the bbq duck in parker place, char siu isn't bad either!

For cheap food I usually just head to aberdeen food court, and get hainanese chicken from cafe delite. My friend says its decent but there are better. I honestly thought it was the best i've had so far, especially since people recommended prata man and it was trash. I tried the malysian place at steveston village and it was average at best.

(kari house)

Kisamos is good... get the youvetsi, almost as good as home made.

I usually go to bob's sub for breakfast, or when im feeling creative... this

http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...79862009_n.jpg

egg goes on grilled turkey and cheese and bacon

I've probably tried every cha cha ting in richmond and honestly they are all the same, with some slight variations that some places do drinks better or certain dishes slightly better.

drove by there last night hoping to grab some desserts with the gf. Seems the owners are on vacation and won't be open until next week.

:okay:

There's also a Shang hai restaurant (cannot recall the name) across lansdowne mall (td Canada side) that's really good. It's usually pretty busy around lunch time but it's worth the wait.

palepilsenpin0y 12-31-2011 01:27 PM

-Mui Garden @ Minoru

-Cafe D'Lite express @ Aberdeen food court

Love those two joints :concentrate:

Matlock 12-31-2011 02:01 PM

gf always drags me to deer garden for noodles. The curry is good too.

Bbq Master is good for bbq pork, etc.

Pink swirl is still our favorite take out sushi place. Beware the crazy Chinese man who talks too much. He's nice, though

V4NC1TY 12-31-2011 04:29 PM

The Buffet @ River Rock Casino
The Buffet | River Rock Casino Resort

Extremely comfortable atmosphere, and great food :concentrate:
Can be pricey, but it's worth it
