PS Vita So whos getting this bad boy... after a long debate between deciding whether or not to get it i decided what the hell, might as well :awwyeah: |
I decided to get it as well. The memory cards are sooo expensive though 32gb is like ~$120? i hate sony and their memory cards that aside though, i cant wait for to play with this thing |
I want to but I decided to wait until I get my hands on one to try it out first. I'm really skeptical on this one. Besides, iPad 3 is around the corner. $300 for Vita and $600 for iPad will burn a deep hole. |
for once i applaud sony for not charging an arm and leg for premium products at launch. but two reasons why I won't get it 1. proprietary media...seriously I can't believe sony is still shoving this down people's throat to prevent 'piracy'...wake up sooner or later someone's going to turn it into a micro SDHC adapter. 2. no HD screen maybe when they release revised vita that allows ps3 cloud gaming/remote play...i'm game. |
saw it and used it when it was released in HK last year - not much of an upgrade compared to the PSP Go. I didn't find it worth buying when I played around with it - stuck to my PSP 2000. |
was playing with one at metro the load times are way too long |
i traded in a bunch of games i got for cheap or ones that i got long ago i don't play and getting it for free.. might as well.. as for the mem card.. i picked up a 32gb at costco for 85bux |
^at ebgames? what are the cheap games right now that qualifies as a trade in?? |

The Vita's been available in Aberdeen for over a month or so now.. |
I'm just hoping a buddy of mine would buy it and lend it to me so I could play that Uncharted game on the Vita =[ |
no Naughty Dog no care I'm actually jelly of the dual touchscreen feature:ilied: |
Yeah when I first found out Naughty Dog wasn't developing the game themselves I was essentially :fuckthatshit: But then I saw this... And it made me go :considered: |

Man, I can't seem to get myself into the handheld market anymore.. Not appealing to me at all. I have an xbox, a gaming rig and I had a ps3. A handheld for 300 bucks? Not worth the investment, when I've already got 3 gaming devices and an iPhone. |
I know its been out since Dec, I was there at the system launch. Quote:

i dont see how portable consoles fit in these days. i think its a dying species. |
I got mine heres what I think 1. It feels great. Dont be turned off by the size when I first saw it I was like damn its pretty big but holding and gaming on it feels great! Your hands dont cramp up like when you play a 3DS or smart phone game for 30 mins. 2. The price is good to 249$ is a steal yeah it has proprietary memory so what its still better than what people projected the price to be which was at around 400$ 3. I got Uncharted GA and MvC3. Uncharted looks fantastic I think it looks better than the console version just because of the screen. People talk about resolutions meh I cant notice the difference the experience is still great the FPS is good and thats all that matters IMO this is way better than buying a tablet and carrying around a stupid controller and telling people that its a portable gaming machine. HEH if I wanted to do that I would rock out my ASUS laptop and play BF3 1080P and show you whatsup. $ by $ Vita is > any tablet in the market right now. The games feel like their true console ports and with the different variety of controls from buttons, to front touch to rear to gyroscope the controlls are endless. I recommend a Vita if you really love video games and if you have 249$ to spare. It even has some apps and has a browser so if your thinking about buying a tablet meh might as well buy a Vita it will get you through the day. Also features like Remote Play (play PS3 games on your Vita) and the potential to be a extended controller only makes the purchase better. Just my 2 cents. |

Smartphone games are meh sure they can be cool time killers but they also drain your battery. I rather game on a dedicated device and save my phones battery life for important things such as communication. I still see a market for dedicated gaming. Gamers will buy it regardless also people said the same thing about PC's back in the day. Why would people want to buy a console when the PC can do everything... Look at how that backfired. |
meh if u commute to work or school everyday.. a handheld is probably better off than a smartphone.. i mean sure playing phones on iphone kills time... but i don't carry a cable with me everywhere i go and my iphone sux on battery as it is.. and playing games during the commute will just basically kills my phone.. i probably won't be using my vita as much when i'm at home or whatever.. but it'll have it's use when i'm on vacation with nothing to do or on the airplane. it's not like it's overpriced piece of junk @ $249 it basically have most the feature of a tablet except with a smaller screen but better spec.. like above poster said.. handheld will always have it's market.. i paid $0 for mine so i'm not complaining too much :) |

On a Vita I press power on bam it starts off where I left off right away no need for other BS. Its great for playing when your on your computer or watching something on TV. |
i think it's hard to say yes playing games on a phone kills the battery...but most people aren't playing over 20 minutes anyways looking at all the handheld gaming device since the smartphone market allowed games to dominate...even with 3DS taking a huge price cut the sales are still poor. You have to agree there's only a decent market for portable devices only if there's a mod community behind it. I do not think the PS Vita sales will be any better if it remains hacked-free...otherwise it will become quite a niche market imo |
I like playing games on my smartphone just as much as anyone else, but the PSVITA still has a sweet spot when I want my fix of MvC3 on the go:thumbs: |
