the garlic scallops i have no idea. lol. So i just tell them in english. There fairly white-washed there as they cater to the caucasian crowd.

Were you there on Friday? Er...last Friday.

Preview of my next post...which will probably be next week since I'm shipping out on a cruise for a week tomorrow.

Finished writing up that restaurant in Houston. Feast is a James Beard nominated restaurant and appeared on Bon Appetit's 10 Best New Restaurants in America in 2009.

I'm at this place now and it isn't the same as the one that used to be beside save-on. No $1.99 tan tan noodles ($3.95) and the lunch specials are very different. People aren't the same either.

I just had a Shanghai Chow Mein (sueng hoi cho chow). I didn't see many of the things I used to order at the other Moutai on the menu.

In other news, I forgot to post my last two posts here. We're going old school Richmond...

Tried it this weekend. Blog post coming sometime soon.

Last week, I went to this event put on by the Vancouver Aquarium and Ocean Wise teaching us about sustainable seafood. It's not all save the dolphins, though...we ate some amazing prawns, salmon and oysters at Oru in the Fairmont Hotel. Saw 604foodtography there too.

^Dude that place is so random. Downstairs you have a food and a live piano player and upstairs you have "massage" rooms. At least that's how it was when I went there last.

It has massage rooms?! Weird but...I guess that's par for the course as this restaurant is weird.

Basically, my experience is summed up with decent but boring food served by a wait staff that doesn't speak enough English to understand the English menu and they're constantly over your shoulder. Awful service...I won't go back.

I went there before a couple months back, I think I had a Groupon.

Decor was definitely unique and not too shabby, looks like the owner (who I heard is some Taiwanese tycoon) is pretty well off, spent quite a bit to spruce the place up.
A shame though as the food was really boring and plani... Western style food prepared by untrained Asian chefs ...
We were also the only table in there for the majority of the meal so the 3 ill-trained hong kong waitresses just stood by the bar chatting.

OK people, I need help. I has a birthday coming up soon and I need something carniverous. I live in Burnaby and I'm not willing to trek all the way down to Steveston. Don't mind Vancouverish locations, but nothing totally unreasonable.

MEAT ME.

Haven't a clue about most of Burnaby, really. After leaving BCIT there, I haven't really had time to be back. The only meat-centric place I've been out there is this Turkish restaurant called Anatolia's Gate.

New post: Joyeaux Cafe and Restaurant

You can't have pho without rare beef...can you? My friend had to request it. Isn't pho all about rare beef? The absence of tripe, tendon and whatever other bits and pieces most other pho places throw in sort of disturbing...but I really liked my fish and my milkshake.

I love Joyeaux. I used to head there when I had an early or late lunch break. Going there during the lunch rush is just guaranteeing that you'll get back to work late.

I am wondering, how is the 365 food blog doing in terms of public interest? Revscene is the only place I know of that have reference to it (this thread specifically).
