I lost my iphone5 and got myself an s3. Thing is is that i lost all my contacts. I lost my iphone4 and got an iphone5. I downloaded whatsapp and every single contact was restored thru that. This time around it didnt do that.

Anyone know a way to restore my contacts? I also used easy phone sync but only synced my music playlists.

Samsung Kies has a feature that can extract contacts from a previous iPhone backup, considering you made one before.

I got my S3 a few months ago used, and recently I've had trouble charging it. Its battery life is fine, it just takes forever to charge. I'd put it in airplane mode and plug it in to a wall charger, and after 3 or 4 hours it's only gained maybe 30%. It's worse when I plug it in to the computer, and it keeps on connecting and disconnecting. I'm thinking it may be the charging socket in the phone that is worn out, can someone confirm before I throw money to get it opened up and replaced?

A member here had that exact same thing happen a few months back and said it was indeed an issue with the charging socket.

Damn, I guess I have to replace that. Might as well DIY it and try it myself, since I bought the phone cracked and had the screen replaced. Thanks!

Heads up, new firmware out MF1 with some fairly significant features:

-Multi Window Support
-New Google Play
-Faster HSPA+ Speeds
-Enhanced Gallery

Updating as I type via Kies.

the multi window support is interesting... I don't know if I'll have any use for it. Especially because the stupid keyboard will always block the bottom window.

I've yet to try out the HSPA to see if there are better speeds. The newer gallery is nice, but nothing really special.

Anybody from Rogers get the update yet?

So the update is pretty much a win win, no cons?

Is the update worth losing root over? I could care less for multi-window.

Can't zoom by sliding on left or right side of browser anymore after update.
On the plus side... Auto brightness works better as it dims slightly now before turning off screen

^I'm actually glad that's gone. Seems to have less lag as well.

Weird how other countries can custom the notification bar but the Rogers version won't.

I notice lower RAM usage and less lag with NovaLauncher.

Multi-Window is quite nice, I've found it handy a few times already.

No Media Server battery bug (I fixed it with last update by clearing out my photos/video files), but I do notice overall battery drain is higher.

I'm actually having this problem and it's a quick easy fix. Take a pin or paper clip and "lift up" the component that makes a connection to your port. That component tends to get pushed down and power doesn't flow through properly.

Are you rooted? ROM and version? You just need to get it into recovery and restore it.

I am having that problem too....also seems that my port isn't as tight as it use to be. USB falls out easily. Maybe this has something to do with it?

Anyone have problems with their phone over heating? Phone has shut down a couple times and has been really hot. I have an otterbox case on it, so maybe this is adding to the problem?

Usually it happens if I have been using it a lot or playing games for a while.

(I have not read the whole thread....I apologize in advance if this has already been discussed)
