Sounds like it. If it's still under warranty, I'd go that route.

If not, you can try things like a new battery, or flash a custom rom to see if it persists. If it does after trying those 2 options, the phone is probably not worth fixing.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that. And no more warranty, I bought it off eBay with a blocked T-Mobile IMEI .

I just focked up my fone, got it wet. It will now turn on but the screen is toast. Where can I get it replaced for cheap? Or where can I get the parts (lcd) cheap?

Hey guys been having this issue for a while now...my battery is almost fully charged around 98% and the phone is sitting on standby for 8 hours or so and completely tanks/dies. During this time the screen is not even turned on, nothing is pressed or done to it.

Some days its fine and will drop about 20% or so while others it completely dies, with all external variables remaining the same...

I have juice defender(free) running and power saver mode on the entire time.

Have attached pictures

Download GSAM Battery Monitor from the playstore.

When that happens again, open it up and goto the applist and filter by number of times waking device and time held awake. It should give you an idea whats eating your battery.

I've noticed that even light use of maps and media starts draining the battery pretty quickly. I used to stream music via bluetooth to my car stereo without it being plugged into a charger and even an hour's worth of music will take a huge chunk out of the battery level.

How often do you have push running for all of your programs?

I don't have push running at all as far as I know.
My emails are set to manual updates as well as facebook...

Also I don't use the maps or media at all either.

Well something was running your maps and media if it's taking up 18% of your battery usage. You should check any programs you run to make sure they close them off once you're done.

That said, if you keep your phone in an area that has poor reception and is constantly searching for a tower your battery will drain that much faster as well. My phone can last a day and a half simply on standby with minimal usage while I'm out, but if I'm at home or at work, where both locations I've usually got max 1 bar, it's constantly searching for another tower with better reception and it will drain within 8 hours.

In Gsam you can also view how much battery is used up by your antenna too. Do you not have wifi when you leave it for long periods like that?

Do you have google now on? That eats battery like crazy too.

Yeah GSAM is pretty good.

Last couple of days its been good. Only dropping like 15% in 10 hours while on standby. Been clearing all apps that have been on standby/idle before putting it away.

No wifi access.
I have juice defender running, it doesn't allow it to connect to data until the screen is turned on.

Nope google now is off, never use it.

The phone draining entirely usually occurs about once a week so we'll see how it goes.

I bricked my S3 trying to install a custom ROM onto it.

Does anyone know a good place to take my phone to get fixed?

How bricked is it? Can you still get to DL mode? Buttons totally unresponsive?

If you haven't tried a USB Jig, try that. Cheapest solution to get back into DL mode. You can either make one yourself or buy one online/locally for no more than 10 bucks.

Otherwise, I hear really good things about this place (not local): MobileTechVideos » jtag

Samsung Canada confirms Android 4.3 update coming in November for Note II, Galaxy S3 and S4 | MobileSyrup.com

Woooo, 4.3 to roll out to Canadian carriers in November. All probably thanks to the Galaxy Gear roll-out to get it in time for xmas season!

Hey guys
I've been having this issue for a while where I can't recieve or send MMS messages.
For example: I try to send a picture to a friend and the message won't send. Or a friend sends me a picture and the download button is there but it says message did not download.

The phone will send/recieve text messages perfectly fine but not pictures.

snap chat is way better for sexting man ... only downside is you can't save the pics and show em to your friends later

Hey guys,

Question... this type of unlocking will also allow me to use data and will it work with Telus s3?

FREE UNLOCK* For Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 - ALL GSM carriers & GALAXY Rugby Bell - RedFlagDeals.com Forums

Where could I get an unlock code coz I heard if the phone you get has a firmware 4.1.2 the above method will not work?
