Just finished watching the first ep... Really excited Initial D's back...
but
what an awful episode. Was torn trying to decide whether I like it just because it's Initial D
or accept it for what it really was, a filler episode...
Ridiculous, filler on the very first ep??!
Maybe it was their way of introducing the characters for those new to Initial D
Not sure how many episodes are planned for this series,
but seems like a waste to dedicate it on two insignificant characters who will never be seen for the rest of the series.
Unless this whole set up was just so Takumi gets a new gf....

I dont know if the new animation cell will ever grow on me.. it reminds me of 2nd stage which is albeit way better than 1st stage (well its an excuse considering the animation was done in '98).. i still dislike to this day.. it just looks too digitized for animation..
i guess they are trying to make it more of the manga look and feel.. i really liked 4th stage because the cg and animation blended well together and even Wangan Midnight followed it up with the exact same look and feel.
if my guess is correct.. since 4th stage had 24 episodes with 1 per month and took 2 years to finish...... 5th stage with 2 a month.. one year from now to be exact is 24 episodes..
i hope its no less than that... everyone waited 6 fucking years for this
everything from us senate to all sorts of absurdity.
