It starts with our weakness down the middle. One of the reasons the Canucks were so successful was because they had some of the top faceoff guys in the NHL. We play a puck possession style and when you don't start with the puck...well, that's bad. It's also about defense but tonight the Canucks were exposed for being weak on the draw. Datsyuk dominated in the circle and the Wings owned the puck when they started with it. I didn't think the Canucks played poorly in the first two periods but the Wings started with the puck and got their chances.

And what the fuck, power play. If you're on a 5-on-3, how about we load up the point and howitzer a few at them, huh? The PP is so predicable. They're always going for a cross ice one timer at the circle or a cross crease pass. When our d-men shoot, they're looking for rebounds. Great. That worked two seasons but people have watched enough tape now. How about we let the three guys on our blueline that have 100+ slap shots hammer a few? Even if they don't score, it'll either sting or put the fear of god in their eyes.

Imagine what Tanev's gonna think the next time he has to face a Weber slap shot? He's cool on the outside but he has to be thinking "OHFUCKNOPENOPENOPENOPE"
