Yeah I know, both goals were...
but the constant pressure was not good.
What I mean was too many pucks being thrown at our net.
Something bad was bound to happen.

Schneider came up huge for the team. 32 save performance. Daniel and Henrik worked their cycling magic to get some much needed goals.

Next up, the desert dogs of Phoenix.

UFO 03-19-2013 08:51 PM

The empty net delayed penalty shift was fun to watch. Kind of like roller hockey lol

It wasn't a pretty game overall, but the job got done, and Schneider had a very solid game which he needed.

Regulation win.....

cliffhanger33 03-19-2013 08:52 PM

great 2nd period but questionable 1st and third period efforts by nucks. overall an edgy game but at least we got the 2 points

mb_ 03-19-2013 08:53 PM

A win is a win, I'll take it

iwantaskyline 03-19-2013 09:26 PM

All rainbows and shit now eh? :fullofwin:

On a serious note...Canucks live and die by their goal-tending. If we get elite/great goal-tending we win. It's been like that the last couple of seasons and anything average or less and this team usually struggles.

Our fourth line looks awesome

UFO 03-19-2013 09:49 PM

talkin about our bottom 9?
ya got three to choose from though schro/hans/ray can be considered a tentative second line

:lol :lol :lol

punkwax 03-19-2013 10:03 PM

Glad we won but did anyone else call the Blues scoring 2 in the 3rd to make things interesting?

Just wish we could put teams away with authority when we're ahead.. that type of play won't fly in playoffs.

#AVLogic

lets play defensively to try to maintain the lead rather than have that killer instinct, players have been conditioned to AV's system so bad its become the norm

kwy 03-19-2013 11:03 PM

I hate how we always let off the gas in the third period, and then we scramble to protect the lead and kill time when there's a couple minutes left.

beanzzz 03-19-2013 11:33 PM

Hope Tanev's alright, so far he's taken hard shots to the hand, ankle and now the shoulder.

Part of it is the players too. For example, while some other teams would be built to go balls to the walls with a 3-2 lead and 5 minutes to play, the Canucks are very good at the cycle and chose to try to win like that instead. That's their style and that's fine.

I have less of a problem with how they play with the lead than how they play from behind this season. Remember when we could go into the third with a 2-goal deficit and still believe the Canucks could get it done? Those days are fucking over this year. Absolutely zero killer instinct in the offensive zone.

And that comes with a surprising increase in what I see with team toughness. It's not just adding guys with size and grit like Kassian, Sestito and Pinizzotto and whatever...have you noticed Henrik and Daniel throwing a few hits this year? Notice the twins not taking shit from people anymore and throwing a couple punches rather than turtling? I really like that the Canucks are playing tougher but the offense has become predictable and AV hasn't adapted it.

It all starts with getting stronger in the middle. If we're gonna have any hope in the playoffs, we need to make a deal for a center. Possibly two depending on how Kesler's injury is going.

spideyv2 03-20-2013 12:41 AM

The grit is there, now it's just a matter of staying healthy and scoring

Komisarek on Waivers, I sense buyout coming

murd0c 03-20-2013 08:37 AM

I went to the game and was actually surprised the crowd was fairly decent and not as dull as I thought it was going to be. Fuck I was getting worried at the end of the game.

Did you instantly go buy his jersey or Canucks merchandise to get his autograph?

Anyone else hoping the Canucks go on a losing streak (again) so that we can see the firing of AV?

another losing streak will likely mean no playoffs. rather the canucks either peak at the right time and do some damage or just make it and get bounced early before firing AV.

Drew Doughty quotes after last nights game

" I think one is that they like to whine a lot. At times they remind me of Vancouver with their complaining and stuff like that…I don’t know if it’s one single guy or anything like that. It kind of seems like a whole team kind of thing. All teams whine, all teams complain, it just seems like this team, especially against us…Seem to do it every night. So that’s what frustrates you, and they play you hard, and they’re tough to play against. So that also is what bugs you."

....cry more

and then this
