There is a report coming from Philadelphia TV / radio host, Howard Eskin (via twitter), that he’s been told Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, is likely out for the rest of the season due to concussion symptoms. Sports Illustrated has also apparently picked up the report.
After hearing about this, 105.9 The X’s Mark Madden talked to one of Crosby’s agents, Dee Rizzo, who advised him that this report is false. Crosby definitely does not have any concussion symptoms, the swelling is going down, he is recovering at home and progress is being made according to what Madden is reporting from Rizzo.
It is still unknown as to when he will return to the lineup; however, he does not have any concussion symptoms.
For those who are unaware, Crosby was hit in the mouth by a puck shot by defenseman Brooks Orpik during the game last Saturday against the New York Islanders. He had surgery for a broken jaw shortly after and was released from the hospital this past Monday afternoon. Again, according to Madden, Crosby’s agent is refuting Eskin’s report that he’s out for the rest of the season stating that he has no concussion symptoms, the swelling is going down, he’s recovering at home and is making progress.
Crosby underwent another procedure after being released from the hospital and was visiting the CONSOL today while the team practiced, but he did not skate.
Randomly saw a crowd of people during my lunch break. Funny enough it was Fin that drew my attention to the crowd, otherwise I would have walked right by.
He was nice enough to pose for a pic with me, too bad all I had was the crappy phone on my camera. If I had known he was going to be around today, I would have brought my jersey in just on the minute chance he'd be there. See, he doesn't hate Vancouver.
