Florida just signed Versteeg to a 4 year, $4.4 million per contract. Wonder if they throws a wrench in trade talks with the Panthers.

I guess Lubo doesn't want to be an Islander, seeking to have the trade invalidated and reversed

Quote:

Lubomir Visnovsky doesn’t want to be a New York Islander. The 35-year-old defenseman has filed a grievance through the NHLPA seeking to reverse the trade that sent him from Anaheim to Long Island in June, arguing his no-trade clause is still valid.

Newsday’s Arthur Staples broke the news and reports that the Ducks will oppose the grievance in arbitration. If Anaheim wins, Visnovsky goes to the Islanders. If Visnovsky wins, he’s back with the Ducks.

Either way, it’ll be…awkward.

There’s been no official comment from the Isles, but according to Staples, “they aren’t happy.”

Visnovsky has one year left on his contract. He’ll be paid $3 million in 2012-13, but his cap hit is an Isles-friendly $5.6 million.

FYI on NTC/NMC:

Q: If a player that has a NTC/NMC waives it and gets traded, does he retain his NTC/NMC after the trade? [CBA Section 11.8]
A: Yes, the NTC/NMC remains in effect. The only way it is gone forever is if (A) the player has a NTC that has not vested [it has yet to come into effect when the player was traded], and (B) the acquiring team refuses to be bound by it [the team must make this decision at the time of the trade]

I guess now the question becomes if the Ducks refuse to accept the NTC when they acquired Lubo from Oilers and if Lubo signed off on Ducks refusing to accept it.

I think this at least gets the Bobby Ryan trades and Doan and Semin signings a kick in the ass start as a lot of the same teams in for Nash, where in on Ryan, Doan and Semin. Doubt it means much for Lu being moved though.

So we can hear him deny rumours and give us nothing? OK!

That's what I was thinking as well, this at least looks like Doan won't be going to the Rangers so thats one team off the list. I'm reallly interested to see whats going to happen to Ryan now.

Rick Nash going to NYR?

look a couple posts about SP ;)

RiceIntegraRS 07-23-2012 10:26 AM

I would love to see Ryan on this team, but it seems like the Ducks are just looking to save money. I really wonder what the asking price is for Bobby Ryan. If it was a roster player, prospect, and pick, i would do it in a heartbeat.

Tim Budong 07-23-2012 10:28 AM

Dubinsky HAS to be involved here, moneys gotta go back somehow...

maybe this year, i can draft Nash/Richards on drafts
unlike last year where I got fucked so hard up the ass with nash/carter
haha

MR_BIGGS 07-23-2012 10:29 AM

Wow, I wonder if Chris Kreider is part of the speculated trade...

Dubinsky, Kreider, 1st for Nash??? That's a lot..

MR_BIGGS 07-23-2012 10:32 AM

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger

Yea, pretty sure he meant 4, all those insider reports and league GMs have Berrys issued by the networks and teams.

I wonder if NYR caved into the high demands or not, could be a panic reaction to Philly signing Weber to offer sheet?

RiceIntegraRS 07-23-2012 10:35 AM

This is Rick Nash, everyone knows his resume and his credentials. Columbus better be getting alot back for him.

Nash > Dubinsky, Kreider, and 1st
