Day 2 with the phone and using it far more heavily than I will when it isnt my new toy. I unplugged it at 10:30am and at 10:30pm I had 15% battery remaining. That was including lots of wifi, but some LTE, some gaming, some video, some blutooth, etc. From my experience, battery life seems to improve by as much as 50% after the battery cycles a few times. So I see absolutely no reason why a charge shouldn't last a full day under normal use. Gaming, movies, or lots of LTE will bring it down some tho.
One weird thing that is bugging me is there is about a 3 second delay from the time I push the Send button on txt messages before it appears to do something.
Also, does anyone know how to get facebook birthday reminders out of the phone? They are always shown on my lock screen. I have facebook turned off in my calendar, and I think the settings in the app as well. I have a feeling it synced once and now the info is stored.
edit: ^ i had birthday reminders set to none. but it was still syncing birthday reminders so i just turned facebook events off and it worked. i dont need reminders in my phone for facebook events anyway.
I am actually considering going back to Blackberry was a long time user then switched to an iphone5 noticed how stale and boring iOS is want to try out the ne bb10 how is everyone liking the phone? Any noticeable bugs, crashes, ect....
I recommend doing a few restarts periodically as you adjust settings. You arent required to do restarts for anything it seems, but I have noticed certain settings adjustments for things like notifications sometimes require a restart to take effect.
I also noticed after a day of playing around with things I was down to 0.85gb of free memory available (from 2gb) and after a restart it went back to 1.2gb available. Will have to see how this is over a few days. The phone was blazing fast with the less memory available and it wasnt noticeable. the 2gb of ram is sure a nice upgrade.
Just picked mine up today. Couple minor things i noticed:
- Battery % not shown
- Wifi settings wouldnt let me copy and paste my key (64 char hex) - had to type that one out.
- Finish a message, get out. Get a notification and its not the hub i see in peek, but the message i just sent.
- Tried to use the camera in the browser but it didnt work. Opened the cam to take a pic and it was a no go. Displayed some error message about not being able to open the cam - reboot fixed it.
- Wish bedside mode could be set to come on automatically. Ie 1am - 7am
- When an app is launched, you can actually see the screen transition to the "homescreen", minimize and then open. I dont think this is necessary and should be done in the background.
- Wish I could "pin" a recently opened app so it stayed in one place. Though that's just me being used to widgets.
All in all, coming from a droid I'm really impressed so far.
- OS is real quick and smooth.
- Gestures i've already got down (having a playbook for half a year helped with that and also one of the reasons why i got a bb10 in the first place)
- browser is VERY quick. Loaded crackberry faster than my pc does. And this is the full java and flash site in all its glory.
- keyboard seems real accurate, though it kept correcting my swear words. Had to add them to the dictionary.
- the text selection is a nice touch. If you tap and hold, two "bubbles" appear. Tap the bubble and drag it down a bit. There is now a line from where your finger is to where you want to select. This gets your fat finger out of the way so you can actually see.
This would be about the time where i start dismantling my new droid. Getting rid of bloatware, rooting and looking for roms, and downloading a bunch of utility apps to make it more efficient and less battery draining. I love the customization of android, but im glad i only spent half an hour setting up my bb10.
I have an app called BattBerry that I leave running as a tile so it shows me the percentage.
To be honest I think I'm actually considering on returning the phone. I'll definitely come back once they have mandatory apps and android 4.1 Posted via RS Mobile
you probably have a data add-on. In order to get LTE, you have to change your current plan to an existing LTE plan. (This is the case, at least for me).
Just picked up the Z10, pretty happy with it so far. One odd thing is after I added all my email accounts, it shows all the historical email messages as brand new unread message. There has to be a easy way to uncheck or get rid of these at once

I'm betting that your email provider only supports POP and not IMAP Posted via RS Mobile
The more I see of this phone, the more I want to get rid of my HTC.. Too bad I have 14 months left on my contract, and not enough money to pay it off, trade in, and buy this...
Maybe the Z11 after they get the BlackBerry 10 OS fully debugged and more apps transfered over? Posted via RS Mobile
