Bought my first ever car parts online a few days back. Bought a stereo off a newer model VW from Black Forest Industries (OEM fitment yay), as well as a shift knob/shift pattern coin. Total price before taking exchange rate into account: just under $450. Never thought I'd spend $160 on a shift knob, but it's just so beautifulllll. |
HRE"s. :megusta: |

This set was requested to be built to Rookie's original specifications. Basically Rookie had these exact wheels before he went widebody, the specs were 22x10 ET22 w/ 2.5" lip in the front, and 22x10 ET22 with a 3.5" lip in the back. After he went widebody he went crazy and altered all the inner and outer barrels to make a 3.5" lip in the front and something crazy like a 7" lip in the rear. I likely will get new wheels long before I reach that point, but I couldn't pass on the opportunity to do my own version of an FX with these wheels. Quote:
Granted Viet's FX is a pure show car through and through. The thing sits in a garage now for months or years on end, but previously would travel from show to show, or shoot to shoot. It's not a vehicle that sees very much road use. There is simply too much work invested to use the vehicle. It's kinda sad actually. |

He got the exact same wheels for his S2000 in yesterdays new video. See here: MCM is hilarious, go back and watch some of their videos, any car guy can appreciate the fun they have. |
That front bumper he installed though.... just awful...:okay: |
These will be fun to pay for when the bill comes in. Sponsored by Visa? https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7506/...42845bc5_z.jpg https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8604/...5e2fa371_z.jpg Calipers are brand new, but look used as they travelled from Toronto to BC on an open trailer while bolted to a MK1 Escort rally car project. Probably should have pulled them off before the drive, ah well. -Dave |
To be realistic though, even if you pulled them how long would they last on a rally car before looking like that anyways? |
True! These will be used on my next build, which is going to be a track beetle lightly disguised as a road car. (Much like the rally beetle is just barely a street car.) The corrosion only changes those initial build photos...which I can live with. -Dave |

Bought a new master brake cylinder for the CRX |

Got a tune to get more out of my bolt-ons. Exceladyne Poweraxel module loaded with Beyond Redline stage 1 tune. What I like about this module is that it holds 3 different tunes - Stock, 91 octane & 94octane - so I can switch in between different fuel maps. The tune's suppose to put out 245whp & 290wtq, not badd from baseline of 187whp. Once I get some more skrill I'll be upgrading to 550cc injectors and a piranharace werks stage 2 tune; should push out 260whp & 320wtq. Goodbye OEM clutch. http://i.imgur.com/srMEZkb.jpg Keeping that JDM swag with out the JDM. Not feeling the Black Ice though. http://i.imgur.com/Rg0oOjO.jpg |
